2017: The Year That Horror Video Games Came Back With a Bite, Part 1

Horror is a genre that brings joy to many people ‚Äď as is video gaming. Combine the two and you have a beautiful relationship that brings a mixture of happiness, excitement, and maybe even a little fear to countless fans. That said, there are some amazing horror video games coming out in 2017. Let's take a look at some of them.

1.) Game: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Release Date: January 24. 2017
Developer: Capcom
Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC

Resident Evil is a name that many horror fans and gamers alike know. For many of us, the first couple of Resident Evil games were our first forays into horror video games. Many were disappointed with the last Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 6, because it felt like a clunky, cheesy action movie instead of the survival horror game that we have all come to know and love. With Resident Evil 7, it looks like we are getting back to that horror atmosphere.

Resident Evil 7 takes place in Louisiana four years after what happened in RE6. You are playing as a new character to the series, Ethan Winters, who, while searching for his missing wife, comes upon a haunted plantation filled with psychotic individuals, and, of course, some haunting and frightening creatures. We are not sure how Ethan and the events in this game are connected to the other games in the series, but Capcom has said that they do tie together in some way.

2.) Game: Friday the 13th: The Game
Release Date: Early 2017
Developers: Gun Media, Illfonic
Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC

If there is one thing horror fans love, it’s a killer with a style that will make you fall in love with evil, such as Jason Voorhees, a mighty and ominous figure in the horror world, or as Jason Voorhees the man. The goal of the game, if you are a counselor, is to escape Jason and the camp. You can try the stealth route and hide and sneakily escape from him or team up with other counselors to take him on. If you play as Jason, the goal, of course, is to brutally kill all the counselors!

In this game, we are taken back to good ol’ Camp Crystal Lake, where you can play as a camp counselor or as the man himself, Jason Voorhees. The goal of the game, if you are a counselor, is to escape Jason and the camp. You can try the stealth route and hide and sneakily escape from him or team up with other counselors to take him on. If you play as Jason, the goal of course, is to brutally kill all the counselors!

If you are a Friday the 13th fan, whether you grew up watching the movies or just recently took a liking to Mr. Voorhees, this game will give you the biggest smile on your face. The setting is straight from the early movies, in all its 80s glory, the kills are brutal and gory, and you finally get to play as Jason Voorhees. What more could you ask for? Just remember, counselors, it doesn't matter how fast you run because Jason will always walk faster than you!

3.) Game: Agony
Release Date: June 2017
Developer: Madmind Studio
Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC

Probably one of the least talked about games on this list, Agony, is looking to be a great and gruesome addition to the horror video game catalog. You play a tortured soul who is stuck deep in the depths of Hell looking for an escape. By interacting with other souls stuck in in Hell, you soon learn that the only way to escape is to meet the one and only mystical Red Goddess. You have abilities, such as controlling other demons, that will aid you on this journey to escape.

Agony has some of the most hauntingly beautiful scenery that I have seen in a long time. Morbid and gruesome images play throughout the trailer, exactly what you would expect Hell to look like. The demons are nightmare -inducing, even if some of them have some really nice boobs to look at. Agony looks like it's going to be an Indie gem that will garner a cult following.

Well, there you have it ‚Äď part one of my ongoing series of 2017 video game releases. Keep an eye out because part two will be coming soon.

EDITORIAL: Why Aren’t We Watching The Exorcist?

Online Doctor Prescription Valium

By Dixielord
We're all friends here right? I don't want to make assumptions but we have built up some small amount of trust haven't we? Sure maybe I'm a little too generous on Buy Diazepam Uk 10Mg, but overall I try to steer ya right. So, anyway, I think, and hope, I'm not too far out of line in wanting to ask you this.. I just feel I need to ask, and I hope you aren't offended, but, why the fuck aren't you watching The Exorcist?
The Exorcist movie poster / Image: FOX TV and The Exorcist. Fair use doctrine.
I know, I know. I grimaced and groaned when I first heard about the movie being plundered for a TV series. With the critical success of Hannibal, and the commercial success of The Walking Dead, television has been looking for any and every horror property to look for a series. Some, like The Omen are stillborn (too far to stretch for a pun?), but honestly, quite a few have been good to great (Bates Motel, Ash vs Evil Dead). So why are people so reluctant to give The Exorcist a chance? Honestly, I don't know. TV, at least recently, has as good as or a better, record of "remaking" horror properties than the big screen. But we are letting Cheap Valium Uk, and I'm saying "we" because it took four episodes in before I decided to give it a chance.
Geena Davis and Alfonso Herrera from The Exorcist / Image: FOX TV and The Exorcist. Fair use doctrine.

I wasn't willing to give The Exorcist a shot at first

Luckily I have a hand full of friends whom I really trust with movie and TV suggestions. Now I don't always agree, but I agree often enough that I respect them and usually follow those suggestions. So I gave The Exorcist a try.
I loved it. I watched the first four episodes twice to let it soak in. No joke. I'm still watching. It gets better each episode and it doesn't pull any punches. It's bloody and gory, maybe not to the extremes of Hannibal but it doesn't shirk from wetworks. It also doesn't back away from our main character, played by Hannah Kasulka committing murder while under demonic possession. This folks is real horror. The best true horror on television right now. It's good a good story, great acting and some very cool effects. It pays great homage to the Blair possession make up and effects without carbon copying them. What I'm trying to say is, it's really good.
So why aren't "we" as a horror community watching? It has a killer (overused pun) cast including Kasulka, Geena Davis, Valium Buy, Alfonso Herrara, Alan Ruck, and Sharon Gless. I'm trying not to give out any spoilers, but the series ties in directly to the original movie. Forget all the mediocre sequels (other than Legion) this is, in fact (possible spoiler), a direct sequel to the classic film starring Linda Blair. Including a flash back type sequence, and "news reel" footage of the after effects of the original film. I should also give a shout out to Sophie Thatcher who plays a young Regan. She does a great job of bridging the gap between Blair and .... I'm not telling you that part. You need to watch. You really need to watch.
Seriously, you need to watch. The ratings, honestly, suck. The fact the show is on FOX isn't comforting, either. With their history, we cant count on them to give the series two or three seasons to build an audience. And we shouldn't get too pissed at them if they cancel The Exorcist. We are the ones who aren't watching, who aren't supporting it. Now if you are watching, ignore this, keep up the good work. If you tried it and didn't like it, well to each their own, at least you gave it a shot. It wouldn't hurt to give it another shot, watch a few more episodes, but I won't harangue you about it.
But for those who refuse to give it a chance... for those who never gave Hannibala chance, what the fuck, man? Horror fans, nerd fans, we got it good right now. Let's not lose another great show because we couldn't even bother to give it a fucking look. We couldn't invest the time to check out four episodes or so. The Exorcist is worth at least that much effort. It will die without our support. If not this season, then next. I don't know what the creator's long term goal is, but I want to see it run its natural course and not end prematurely.
You can catch new episodes of The Exorcist Friday Nights on Fox with past episodes available on Demand.

Halloween Night

The sun lays dying into the night on a quiet little town
Halloween night is now upon us
the moon comes up from behind the skeleton shaped trees
a cackling woman flies to the night as you hear a distant howling at the moon
spirits of the dead rise from the grave from nearby cemeteries to occupy the hearts of the young
proper attire is worn as an offering to the dead
the anticipation of the town folk is building as their homes are decorated and prepared for the invasion they are about to live witness to.
the slight chill in the air the crisp cold night is upon us
you can now hear the wind begin to scream as is whips around the bare trees that stand tall and dark as they watch over you
the sounds of rustling dead leaves as small demons trample through them going house-to-house begging and screaming
distant laughter as the elders gather around open bon fires sipping on holiday spirits and witches brew in resemblance of covens from years ago
a jack o' lantern's sinister grin
Halloween night is now upon us
the smell of smoke and burning autumn leaves fills the air
little hearts race as they run the streets so full of excitement and angst
young demons watch as their take gets larger and larger with every stop
the night grows late and the air gets cold
a deafening silence begins to fall over the town
the feet of little demons exhausted from their rampage of terrorizing homes in the sleepy little town
the moon stands still in the far distance as the spirits return to their graves
sleep now young demons and dream the dark dreams of monsters, vampires, and witches
awaken again next year to dance yet again in celebration with the spirits of the dead
for this is Halloween night
Keep it Evil...

The Nun – The Conjuring 2 Spin-off Coming

Conjuring Up A Spin-off

By Dixielord

The Conjuring 2 is still in the theaters and already a spin-off is officially in the works with The Nun. The will be the second movie spinning away from the series based (somewhat) on the real life (somewhat) adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The original Conjuring film lead to the spin-off demon dolly film Annabelle and is itself is in line for a sequel.

The Nun is coming

The Nun Is Coming

It's still very early in the process, but as of now Conjuring director Valium Sales Online Uk is only aboard as a producer. David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) is attached to write the script, but that's pretty much it as no director or cast has been named this early. Bonnie Aarons (Drag Me to Hell) portrayed the nun in The Conjuring 2 but there is no word on whether she will reprise the role or not.

We do know that the story will follow the demonic nun fromBuy Diazepam Online Uk 2013. We can only assume, and it's a fairly safe assumption, that it will delve into the back story of the demon Valak or the nun whose form he took. Most likely both.

According to the Buy Valium Sleeping Tablets, the nun was actually a late addition to The Conjuring 2. Initially, Wan planned on a horned demon representing Valak. However, Lorraine Warren told him of an experience where she had encountered a swirling vortex with a hooded figure inside. Thus, Wan decided to combine the hooded nun figure with the demon Valac. The demonic nun was born, and the seeds were planted for The Nun spin-off.

Who Was Valak?

Valac looks nothing like The Nun

The Conjuring 2 demon Valac as he is pictured in demonology

The demon Valak was not a creation for the film but actually exists. At least in the world of demonology and The Lesser Key of Solomon if not in our reality. In the Lesser Key of Solomon, Valak, or Valac is a President of Hell. Now there are several presidents, Kings and other royalty among the 72, so apparently there was a lot of power sharing in Hell. In the grimoire, Valac is the diviner of great secrets and can be summoned by worthy magicians. His physical form resembles a small winged boy astride a two-headed dragon. There are no reports of him using shitty CGI, which was my main complaint with The Conjuring 2 (The Crooked Man).

The Nun from the Blues Brothers

What's more frightening than The Nun from Conjuring 2? The Penguin!!

The Nun actually has some material and potential. If they go at it hardcore and don't worry about trying to make a film for the masses. Give us an old school nunBuy Diazepam Pharmastores with sleaze, sex, and abominations! We believe in you! Actually, nah, that's not likely to happen. It's probably going to follow the lines of Annabelle and play it fairly safe. While I enjoyed both Conjuring films, the first more than the second, Annabelle bored me. I hope The Nun is closer to its cinematic parents than its cousin.

DEMONS 3D?!

Buy Diazepam In Uk Next Day Delivery

By Amy Mead

Demons Metropol

Demons 3D?!  Are we headed back to The Metropol? Well, much to the excitement of many horror fans, rumors of a remake of the classic Italian horror film, Demons have recently begun to surface. It seems as though the films original creators are discussing it. And not just a remake, but a remake in 3D at that.

Argento.  Bava.  Stivaletti.  If you are an Italian horror fan like myself, these are names you've heard before and in all likelihood, have come to know and love. Since the rumors began, many fans seem to be of the mind that at least it's the original team taking on the project and that they are all for it. I am not so sure. I cannot wrap my head around Demons 3D. Like at all.

I was literally stunned into silence when I saw the headline pop up in my newsfeed last night. To put it simply, I was devastated. And when I was finally able to pick my jaw up of the floor, I also had to pick up the pieces of my broken heart. I know that sounds extreme, but those of you out there that know me, are well aware of how hard I nerd out when it comes to this film (and its sequel, Demons 2) and that it truly is one of my favorite films of all time. I love it so much that I have not one, but two tattoos to honor it. I am a dedicated fan and while it may seem like no big deal to most fans, (most likely due to the overwhelming amount of remakes that have become so common these days) I find it somewhat disheartening that the creators themselves feel as though this classic needs to be remade. Or that it can possibly be improved upon. Do they not see what a masterpiece it is?

Suffice it to say that I do not share what seems to be the popular opinion about the potential remake. I for one, am less than enthusiastic about one of my all time favorite films being remade. Especially in 3D, man. Demons 3D? Can you imagine it? All I can see is what were once awesomely over the top practical effects getting drastically cheesed out and undersold with bad CGI and hokey 3D effects. UGH. Visions of cheap jump scares relying heavily on the 3D aspect are literally dancing in my head as I write this. And it bums me out hard. My son on the other hand is all for it and thinks it will be amazing, much like many of you out there seem to.

I wish I could be as optimistic as the rest of you but I have seen the last few Argento films. They aren't good, and any true Argento fan knows it. Dracula 3D was so awful, not even a seasoned veteran such as Rutger Hauer or a topless Asia Argento could save it.  I am a HUGE fan of the man's work, but sadly, the revered maestro  has lost his touch and his last few offerings have left much to be desired.

Should this rumored Demons 3D project actually come to fruition, my only hope is that it will maybe garner a new audience for the many of the old school Italian horror films that so many of us love. The Italian horror sub-genre deserves wider recognition and respect so while I am not looking forward to remake, I am hopeful that it will possibly spark a renewed interest these forgotten treasures, as they truly are some of the best horror films out there.

I've never really been a remake snob but I do feel that there are some films that simply just don't need to be remade, re-imagined or regurgitated.  For me personally, Lamberto Bava's Demons is one of those films. It's timeless, it's a classic, and it's a film that should stand alone. It does not need improvement by any stretch of the imagination.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

MOVIE REVIEW: Deathgasm (2015)

Buy Valium Edinburgh

DeathgasmBy Nick Durham

Heavy metal up your fucking ass. That’s what Deathgasm promises, and holy mother of fucking shit, that’s what Deathgasm delivers on. A delirious, New Zealand-birthed film revolving around metal, demons, and hysterical gross out moments, this film is a total fucking treat, and that’s saying it lightly. Fifteen minutes into this movie, I knew I stumbled upon something special.

Deathgasm revolves around Brodie (Milo Cawthorne): an abandoned teenage metal head that is stuck living with some fairly¬†conservative family members that don’t approve of his dress style, taste in music, or penchant for playing some blistering licks on his guitar (it should go without saying that¬†I totally relate to this kid, but I digress). Anyway, Brodie meets local troublemaker and fellow metal head Zakk (James Blake), and of course they decide to start their own band. Before you know it, they inadvertently summon up an ancient evil that begins taking demonic possession of the local¬†townfolk.¬† What results is some of the most hilariously amazing scenes you’ll see in a horror flick around today.

Nearly everything about Deathgasm is wondrous. The film’s screenplay and scenes are peppered throughout with various metal-flavored in-jokes and nods to the metal genre. Combined with the pitch-black comedic moments and even more nods to 80s horror flicks (this film owes a lot to Evil Dead and Demons), you won’t be able to do much else other than love this fucking film. The film’s makeup and gore effects, and especially the soundtrack, are totally fucking killer.

Now for as much as I love Deathgasm, it isn’t perfect. In fact, it falls just short of being an all-time classic, albeit just barely. The bro relationship between Brodie and Zakk, and the love triangle with the super fine Medina (Kimberly Crossman), doesn’t get as much depth served to it as I would’ve liked. That and sometimes the film’s pacing is sometimes all over the place. All of that aside, this is a fucking great time.

All in all, if you’re a longtime fan of metal music, you owe it to yourself to see Deathgasm. Even if you’re not into metal music, you’ll find a lot to admire here regardless if anything like Evil Dead or Demons is up your alley. If you don’t get even a smidge of enjoyment out of this, I think something may be wrong with you, and we just can’t be friends.

Synapse Films Nails It With Demons and Demons 2 Steelbooks

Review of Limited Edition Synapse Film
Steelbook Releases
Demons (1985) and Demons 2 (1986)

Buy Valium Australia Online

Having been a longtime fan of both, Buy Diazepam 10Mg India and Online Meds Valium, I quickly went into hardcore fangirl mode when I heard about the pending release of their limited edition steelbooks from Can I Buy Valium Over The Counter In Spain. From the pictures alone they looked absolutely stunning. I knew immediately that I had to have them. Not only based on the previous transfer and restoration work I had seen come from the talented folks at Synapse Films (and what they did with films such as Prom Night, Curtains, and Basket Case 2), but also because these films have seriously been among my favorites for YEARS. I love them.

Buy Cheap Valium Online Australia

Not long after their release, I called Jerry Chandler (of Synapse Films) directly, and ordered one of each film. A few days later, they at long last arrived. I couldn't wait to tear into the box and lay my eyes on them. And when I finally did? They were totally worth the long, agonizing wait. They literally took my breath away. The outside artwork is incredible. I almost didn't want to unwrap them and have them as display only, they were that beautiful.

Very carefully, I removed the cellophane and opened the first film, Demons. When I opened it up, I found a replica of the Metropol theater ticket and more artwork on the inside of cover (of an image I absolutely love - I had gotten the exact image tattooed on my shoulder about two years prior) and a DVD copy of the film as well as the Blu-ray. I popped in the Blu-ray and kicked back to take it all in. I sat there speechless for the entirely of the film. The colors, the sound, everything about it was breathtaking and I was seriously over the moon that I had decided to make this purchase.

Buy Generic Diazepam Online

After the credits rolled, I started in on all the bonus features. In addition to the ticket replica, there are plenty more. If you are a fan of Italian horror and names like Lamberto Bava, Dario Argento, Octavio Dell'Acqua and Luigi Cozzi, then you really need to see/own this Synapse release. The interviews are very informative and are a must see for the diehard fans. There is also audio commentary with director Lamberto Bava, actress Geretta Geretta, Claudio Simonetti, and SFX make up artist Sergio Stivaletti.

A few days later, I finally got the chance to open up and inspect the Demons 2 steelbook and It's pretty much more of the same awesomeness and badassery. There is a replica of Angela's birthday party invitation and more fantastic artwork on the inside cover, as well as a Blu-ray and DVD copy of the film. I started the Blu-ray, got comfortable and once again, the sound, the color, and clarity were all truly amazing. I was glued to the TV until the credits ran.

Valium Online Australia

Of course, I also had to check out the bonus features and they are once again a treasure trove for Italian horror fans, complete with English and Italian soundtracks, the original theatrical trailer, and interviews with Lamberto Bava, Roy Bava, Sergio Stivaletti, Federico Zampaglione and Soundtrack Composer Simon Boswell. And like all the interviews in the Demons steelbook, they are a must see for the diehards.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with what Synapse has given us with these steelbook releases and I am extremely happy that I was able to get my hands them, especially since they are limited to 3,000 each. I'm telling you, if you are an extreme fan of these films like me, these are pieces you have to have in your collection and proudly display.

Earlier in 2015, I discovered that Synapse had also taken on the restoration of three Dario Argento films, Suspiria, Tenebrae, and Phenomena (aka Creepers). Because of what Synapse has done with Demons and Demons 2, I am eager to see what they do with these classics from one of my all-time favorite directors.

I highly recommend these and I give them both a solid rating of 10/10.
