A punk rock band gets more than they bargained for in this no holds barred riveting thriller. Writer/director Jeremy Saulnier (Murder Party 2007 and Blue Ruin 2013) does another job well done executing a slow burn thriller packed with punk music, machetes, carnage, vengeance and Neo-Nazis. What more could you ask for in a white knuckle thriller? A local punk band drives from venue to venue to play shows and make some cash and when they believe they've landed the gig of a lifetime, that is when all bets are off.

After the band finishes playing their set, they begin leaving the premises that is until one of the members realizes he left his cell phone back in the room. Pat, played by Anton Yelchin (RIP), offers to retrieve it and witnesses a grisly murder. The band is then forced back into the room and held hostage until Darcy, the owner of the club (played by the great Patrick Stewart), shows up and can figure out what to do. But it seems that Darcy has a very sharp plan up his sleeve for the band and that is to wipe the slate clean. The group have no intentions on staying in the building and will do whatever it takes to stay alive...or die trying.

From the moment they witness the murder, the film is covered in blood. As well as horrifying deaths. As the clock ticks and the body count rises, time begins running out and the group faces one hell of a nightmare. As a hardcore movie lover I will say that Green Roomis the best movie of the year thus far and with all the crap coming out later on this year I will bet anything that nothing will come close to beating this film. If you haven't had the chance to view Green Room, what the hell are you waiting for? It's a balls to wall, hardcore film that is guaranteed to be talked about for years to come.
