Leprechaun Returns gives us the pot of gold earlier than we expected

Linden Porco

Growing up as a kid I made it my mission to watch Leprechaun when it first came out. When I was able to finally watch it on VHS I couldn’t be happier the films were pretty much gory b movies to finally just…a comedy…to LEPRECHAUN ORIGINS. The less said about origins the better. All hope was lost in the films. Well they have them all on Blu-ray so there’s that. Then there was word the film was going to get a reboot I was listening again. Sure it was going to be on SYFY, but the directors of The Void (2017) Steven Kostanski, Jeremy Gillespie were going to be behind it  so I have faith in it. With news breaking today of a poster it pretty much gives us the hint that this will be a direct sequel to Leprechaun (1993) Now originally, we were going to see the film in March of 2019 but a couple of great things: The movie will be released next month on VOD DEC 11TH. Plus the original distributor LIONSGATE will be behind it after all. So, this means more blood and more gore. The plot for Leprechaun Returns is “The Leprechaun returns once again, when a group of girls unwillingly awaken him, when they tear down a cabin so that they can build a new sorority house.” Truth be told I’m not looking for Oscar worthy stuff just give me a creature terrorizing people out in the woods, city, Las Vegas, Space, wherever he may bust just as long as we have Leprechaun back on the small or big screen. Below is the teaser trailer that premiered this past St. Patrick’s Day. Sadly, Warwick Davis won’t be in this version but there will be a new actor playing name Linden Porco who you may have seen in Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block and Cult of Chucky (2017). Linden has done numerous roles in movies and tv shows bringing a lot to his roles. So, this should be interesting to maybe see a different take on Leprechaun.
