Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Del Toro’s Nightmare Alley remake?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Guillermo del Toro are nearing a collaboration on Nightmare Alley. This is an adaption of William Lindsey Gresham’s 1946 novel of the same title. Del Toro is developing Nightmare Alley at Fox Searchlight which is the studio that handles the production of his Oscar winner— The Shape Of Water

It was last reported that DiCaprio entered the final negotiations to star as the lead role of mentalist and con artist Stanton “Stan” Carlisle. This will give DiCaprio his next leading role after Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He is the first actor attached to this project right now.
