THE VORTEXX: COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN

THE VORTEXX: COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN

2. Vortexx Halloween theme (1) / The VortexxObviously, Halloween is a special time of the year for the denizens of The Vortexx, your home away from home for horror hosts, B-movies, and cult flicks. In celebration of the Season of the Witch, we've put together a great line-up of Halloween-themed shows starting on October 20 and continuing through All Hallows' Eve itself. Unless otherwise indicated, each show begins at 9 (ET). Please come on by, enjoy our shows, and if you are so inclined, join our friendly chatters in The Vortexx chat room. You can find us at horrorhost.net.
4. Oct 20. Night Chills Theatre / The VortexxOur Countdown to Halloween kicks off on Friday, October 20, with THE NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL. Host Vincent Grimmly and special guest Vlad give the deliciously cheesy Spanish horror thriller VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES (1973) the MST3K treatment. Horror great Paul Naschy stars in a triple role. Some gratuitous nudity, a little gore, and an undeniably groovy free-form jazz and progressive-rock score add to the fun.
5. Oct 21. Sicko Psychotic / The VortexxThe Countdown continues on Saturday, October 21, with SICKO-PSYCHOTIC'S TWISTED HALLOWEEN SPECIAL! In a tribute to the Silent Screams of yesteryear, Sicko is presenting two rare and seldom-seen classics -- Georges Méliè’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL (1896) and the earliest surviving version of DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1912) -- followed by Sicko's twisted and tasteless alteration of THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI (1920).
6. Oct 22. Sir Graveson Show / The VortexxThen come back on Sunday, October 22, at approx. 10:30 (ET) as THE SIR GRAVESON SHOW presents a SPECIAL HALLOWE'EN SPECIAL. Sir Graveson and his friends attempt to have a knock-out Halloween show, but a pesky casket salesman keeps interfering! In addition to some delightful host bits, this one-hour show will include movie trailers and clips, cartoons, vintage TV commercials, and musical guests The Petty Ghouls.
7. Oct 24. Vortexx Halloween Show 2016 / The VortexxThe Countdown continues on Tuesday, October 24, with a VORTEXX HALLOWEEN PARTY from 2016. Our Monster of Ceremonies will be Mortimer Van Creep, host of SKUNKY CINEMA, who will be presenting CARRY ON SCREAMING (1966), the twelfth installment of the long-running British "Carry On" series. It's a hilarious parody of the Hammer horror films of the 1960s starring Kenneth Williams and Fennella Fielding.
8. Oct 25. Mummy TV Halloween Show / The VortexxOn Wednesday, October 25, our ancient host Mr. Mummy continues our Halloween celebration with MUMMY TV HALLOWEEN TRICKS & TREATS. Mr. Mummy likes to keep the details of his upcoming shows under wraps (so to speak), but based on his previous holiday specials we're guessing that Mr. Mummy will be entertaining us with a plethora of Halloween-themed cartoons, trailers, retro TV commercials, and original song parodies -- some of which may well feature members of The Vortexx staff! There will be a spotlighted Vortexxian who will be revealed at the start of the show. Last time 'round it was The Crimson Executioner; who will it be tonight?
9. Oct 29. Vortexx Halloween Show 2015 / The VortexxThe Countdown swings into high gear on Sunday, October 29, with A VORTEXX HALLOWEEN, a re-broadcast of our 2015 Halloween show. Mortimer Van Creep will once again be our Monster of Ceremonies, and he has a couple of very creepy movies lined up for us tonight -- BLACK SABBATH (1964), a trilogy of terror from Mario Bava starring Boris Karloff, and Mary Roberts Rinehart's THE BAT (1959) starring Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead. In addition, there will be special appearances by some of your favorite horror hosts and Vortexx denizens, along with numerous other extras and special features.
10. Oct 30-31. Morty's Monster Party (1) / The VortexxWe conclude our Halloween festivities with MORTY'S MONSTER PARTY! This brand-new Halloween show featuring a collection of Mort's Monster Shorts is so overwhelming that we're airing it in two parts on two successive nights -- Monday, October 30, and Tuesday, October 31. If you're not familiar with Mort's "shorts," they're 9-10 minute versions of classic horror movies from the '30s, '40s, and '50s originally released on 8mm and 16mm film by Castle Films. Although the originals are under copyright, these abbreviated home movies are not!
11. Oct 30-31. Morty's Monster Party (2) Movies / The VortexxAmong the "treats" in store for you are the Universal's original Frankenstein (1931), Dracula (1931), and The Mummy (1932), along with Universal classics from the 1940s such as The Wolf Man" (1941) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) and classic sci-fi thrillers from the 1950s such as Earth Vs. the Flying Saucers (1956) and The Deadly Mantis (1957).
12. Oct 30-31. Morty's Monster Party (3) Hosts / The VortexxAnd if that isn't awesome enough, each movie will be presented by one of our horror hosts. The hosts who have signed up so far include Arachna of the Spider People, Bobby Gammonster, Charley Macorn, Master Vyle, PumpkinMan, Sicko-Psychotic, Uncle Edward, and Wolfie from the Late Dr Lady Show, as well as several hosts on the Vortexx staff -- Dr. Sigmund Zoid, Sluggo, Cerberus, and Destroyah.
3. Vortexx Halloween theme (2) / The VortexxWhether it be Halloween or any other day or night of the year, if you're in the mood for entertainment -- or just want to relax and unwind -- the Vortexx is here for you. Our movies run 24/7, our chat room is open day and night, and we have a featured movie and a moderated chat at 9 (ET) every night of the week. We’ve been around for seven years, and we'll keep the doors open as long as you keep coming around. Happy Halloween!

Vortexx Schedule for April 09-16, 2017

Welcome to The Vortexx where it's been ALL HOSTS ALL THE TIME FOR SIX YEARS!
THE VORTEXX! SIX YEARS STRONG!!!!!
Welcome to THE VORTEXX where it's ALL HOSTS ALL THE TIME! We've got a terrific line-up of hosts, shows, and movies coming up this week for your viewing and chatting pleasure, including two movies making their Vortexx debut along with several returning favorites.
But wait! There's more! This week marks the Vortexx debut of Orson Welles, playing a real-life 18th century magician and hypnotist known as Count Cagliostro. We've also got an eclectic assortment of aliens, including voluptuous moo n women and cheesy Neptune men, a moon beast who's not from the moon, and a movie called Alien Zone that has no aliens in it. Toss in Charlie Chan, Raymond Burr, Bela Lugosi, and the Bee Girls for good measure, and you've got the makings for a great week of entertainment.
Our hosts this week are Arachna & Deadly, Deadwood & friends from Screaming Soup, Dave Binkley & Holly Schilthelm, Lord Blood-Rah, Mr. Lobo, Uncle Pete & El Vato, Vincent Grimmly & Phydeaux, Dr. Sigmund Zoid, and Misty Brew. Enjoy our shows and thanks for hanging out.
BEWARE THEATER presents WHITE ZOMBIE (1932)
Sunday (04/09). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents another classic from the golden age of black-and-white -- WHITE ZOMBIE (1932). It's the first zombie movie ever -- and arguably still one of the best! Fresh from his success in Dracula, Bela Lugosi plays the evil Murder Legendre, who can control people with a little white powder, a hand clench, and a nasty glare. [Artwork by Bradley Beard.] Note: Our show will be followed by an encore presentation of Wednesday's SCREAMING SOUP review of the 1988 horror-thriller SCARECROWS.
THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE presents The Vortexx debut of CHARLIE CHAN'S SECRET (1936)
Monday (04/10). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and Holly Schilthelm presents The Vortexx debut of CHARLIE CHAN'S SECRET (1936). Swedish-born Warner Oland stars as everyone's favorite Chinese detective in this tale of a man presumably drowned in a shipwreck who may not be as dead as everyone thinks he is. You can be sure that Charlie will get to the bottom of it all before the closing credits. In keeping with the theme of tonight's movie, the movie breaks will be hosted from several "secret" locations.
LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents HOUSE OF THE DEAD (1978)
Tuesday (04/11). 9:00 P.M. (ET) LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents HOUSE OF THE DEAD (1978). Not to be confused with the Uwe Boll abomination of the same name, tonight's movie, also known as The Alien Zone, is an anthology of four tales told by a mortician about the lives of the recently and deservedly deceased. As always, Lord Blood-Rah will be spicing up the mix with plenty of movie trailers and a Cranial Cavity Search.
CINEMA INSOMNIA WITH MR. LOBO presents INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN (1961)
Wednesday (04/12). 9:00 P.M. (ET) CINEMA INSOMNIA WITH MR. LOBO presents INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN (1961). Sonny Chiba stars as a mysterious superhero called Space Chief, who flies around in a rocket-propelled car. The Neptune Men are a group of slow-moving aliens wearing nose-cone-shaped space helmets that look like suppositories, who are attempting to invade Earth in rocket ships that look like evil crab cakes. Can Space Chief and some annoying Japanese kids running around in short shorts thwart their nefarious plans?
SCREAMING SOUP reviews SATAN'S LITTLE HELPER (2004)
Wednesday02Desc
Note: Our Wednesday show will be followed by a new episode of SCREAMING SOUP. Tonight Deadwood & friends are reviewing the 2004 horror-comedy SATAN'S LITTLE HELPER (2004).
THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN presents TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST (1976)
Thursday (04/13). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN with Uncle Pete and his sidekick El Vato presents TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST (1976). After a beefy young mineralogist (Chase Cordell) gets boinked in the head by a meteor fragment, he is transformed into a hideous lizard-like monster whenever the moon comes out. Badly paced and badly shot, with a badly constructed story and a mostly talentless cast playing cardboard characters, its one saving feature is that soon-to-be-famous Rick Baker designed the beast.
NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE presents MISSILE TO THE MOON (1958)
Friday (04/14). 9:00 P.M. (ET) NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE with Vincent Grimmly and Phydeaux presents MISSILE TO THE MOON (1958). This remake of the 1953 classic Cat-Women of the Moon is even cheesier than the original. It has everything that fans of bad B-movies could possibly ask for. Voluptuous moon women, ridiculous rock men, and a hairy spider puppet -- not to mention plywood sets and lunar footage shot at Vasquez Rocks in Los Angeles County (which also doubled for Tibet in Werewolf of London).
ALTERNATIVE REALITIES with Dr. Sigmund Zoid presents INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS (1973)
Saturday (04/15). 9:00 P.M. (ET) ALTERNATIVE REALITIES returns to The Vortexx with a brand-new episode! Sluggo and Dwight are nowhere to be found, so Zoid decides to have a "guys night in" in this fun episode entitled The Man Show. The movie he is hosting is definitely one that will appeal to all manly men. It's INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS (1973) and it's about a mad scientist (Anitra Ford) who creates an army of deadly beauties that seduce their hapless male victims to death. Beefy William Smith plays the government agent trying to get to the bottom of things, while Playboy playmate Victoria Vetri plays the sexy lab librarian who joins forces with him. We're not giving anything away by telling you that Victoria gets naked before the movie is over.

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of BLACK MAGIC (1949)

Sunday (04/16). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of BLACK MAGIC (1949) aka Cagliostro. Orson Welles makes his Vortexx debut tonight as Cagliostro, a carnival magician and hypnotist in pre-Revolutionary France who uses his powers to gain wealth, fame, and prestige and to carry out a complicated revenge scheme. Based on a novel by Alexandre Dumas, the story is told in flashback by Alexandre to his son Alexandre Jr (Raymond Burr). Note: Our show will be followed by an encore presentation of Wednesday's SCREAMING SOUP review of the 2004 horror-comedy SATAN'S LITTLE HELPER.

“Every day is a good day that ends in the Vortexx.” You can find us in our new no-lag chat room at horrorhost.net. Remember folks, we’re the Gooble Gobble Channel. We accept everyone. And we will keep the doors open as long as you keep coming around! If you’re a horror host looking for an additional outlet for your show, email Sluggo at sluggo@horrorhost.net.

Tonight's movie showcases the magic act skills of Calvert who was a professional magician as well as an actor. In keeping with the "devilish" theme of tonight's movie, the host bits were filmed at Devilstrip Dolly's in Akron, Ohio.

Tuesday (03/28). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE GOLDEN HORDE with the manliest of manly-men hosts Gorenard the Beerbarian presents the one-and-only BLOODY PIT OF HORROR (1965) aka Il Boia Scarlatto starring Mickey Hargitay as the manliest of movie villains -- The Crimson Executioner. Admittedly, Mickey was no great actor. But he is truly inspired in the role of Travis Anderson, the reclusive owner of a castle who may or may not be the reincarnated spirit of a 17th-century madman.
THE LATE DR LADY SHOW presents FUNERAL HOME (1980)
Wednesday (03/29). 9:00 P.M. ALTERNATIVE REALITIES presents TERROR IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE (1958)
Friday (03/31). 9:00 P.M. (ET) ALTERNATIVE REALITIES with Dr. Sigmund Zoid and Sluggo presents TERROR IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE (1958) aka My World Dies Screaming. A man (Gerald Mohr) takes his new wife (Cathy O'Donnell) to live in an ominous old house that turns out to be the same house that keeps popping up in her nightmares. Could this be mere coincidence? If you believe that, we have a bridge in Brooklyn that you might be interested in buying.
SKUNKY CINEMA with Mortimer Van Creep presents The Vortexx premieres of HOUSE OF HORRORS (1946) and THE BRUTE MAN (1946)
Saturday (04/01). 9:00 P.M. (ET) SKUNKY CINEMA with Mortimer Van Creep presents a RONDO HATTON DOUBLE FEATURE! First up is The Vortexx premiere of HOUSE OF HORRORS (1946). In his first starring role Hatton plays The Creeper, a character introduced two years earlier in the Sherlock Holmes movie The Pearl of Death. Then stick around for The Vortexx premiere of Rondo's last movie THE BRUTE MAN (1946), where he reprises the role of The Creeper with a different back story. You may be thinking there's no way this love story can end happily, but oddly enough it does! As an added bonus we will be watching Betty White go up against George (Ro-Man) Barrows in a 1957 episode of Date with the Angels entitled "The Gorilla".

Barbara Steele stars as his unfaithful wife, who plots against the doctor, now a cripple, with the help of her lover, while the lover plots against Babs with the help of the housekeeper. This sequel to Freda's 1962 classic has lots of atmosphere, lots of Babs, and a terrific twist ending.

An artist, sculptor, pro wrestler, and haunter at the Harrodsburg Haunted House in his previous life, Slash is a Wolf Man who loves the old-time classic horror and sci-fi movies. And now that he's been bitten by the horror host bug, he's put together a show that he describes as "a cross between Pee-wee's Playhouse and Tales from the Crypt." Tonight Slash and his sidekicks Poe, Hoots, and Bones will be hosting Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959). This is a movie that needs no introduction, but we're going to give you one anyway. A couple of pompous aliens in silk pajamas (Dudley Manlove and Joanna Lee) and their leader The Ruler (Bunny Breckinridge) plan to resurrect Bela Lugosi, Vampira, and Tor Johnson as slow-moving zombies. Why? Because all you of Earth are Idiots!

BEWARE THEATER presents THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (1962)

Tuesday (2/14). 9:00 P.M. (ET) Happy Valentine's Day to all our friends in The Vortexx! Tonight we've picked a movie that we feel is suitable for the occasion. It's a lovely love story about a mad scientist who loves his girlfriend so much that he's willing to stalk and murder to get a new body for her." Join us tonight as BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (1962). Affectionately known to its many fans as "The Brain That Wouldn't Shuddup" and "Jan in the Pan," this film has everything that a B-movie fan could possibly ask for -- mutants, mad doctors, talking heads, cat fighting strippers, and some of the sleaziest, most infectious music you've ever heard.

MIDNIGHT CHILLERS presents THE EMBALMER (1965)

Wednesday (2/15). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MIDNIGHT CHILLERS with Edgar von Ghoul presents THE EMBALMER (1965) aka The Monster of Venice. A psycho in a monk's robe and skull mask dons a scuba suit and stalks the canals of Venice looking for victims (all beautiful women, of course) to kill and then bring to his secret underwater lair for the titular embalming. Unfortunately, the budget did not allow for any underwater photography, which might have improved the killing scenes. But the secret lair, revealed at the end of the movie, is something to be seen.

SCREAMING SOUP reviews Fred Olen Ray's EVIL TOONS (1992)

Wednesday (2/15). 11:15 P.M. (ET) Don't go away folks! Stick around after Midnight Chillers for another episode of SCREAMING SOUP! Now entering its fourth season, this animated horror host show specializes in raunchy movie reviews. In tonight's episode our host Deadwest reviews Fred Olen Ray's EVIL TOONS (1992) while being ambushed by Buzzkill, a competing horror host. A knock-off of Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead, tonight's movie stars David Carradine, Dick Miller, Arte Johnson, and scream queen Michelle Bauer. Please note: This episode contains nudity and gross-out raunchiness and is, therefore, recommended for immature adults only.

PUBLIC DOMAIN DRIVE-IN presents Roger Corman's QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966)

Thursday (2/16). 9:00 P.M. (ET) PUBLIC DOMAIN DRIVE-IN with Cnl. Graves and Smiley Bones presents Roger Corman’s QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966). Here we go again! Corman got his hands on some more Russian footage, hired someone to write a screenplay around it, brought in Basil Rathbone and a few other English-speaking actors, and finished the whole thing in little over a week at a cost of $65,000. But the really strange thing is . . . this is actually a very good movie! Florence Marley gives a deliciously creepy performance as a green-skinned, glowing-eyed alien woman who is rescued on Mars to be brought back to Earth and proceeds to drain the blood from assorted crew members on the way home. Keep an eye out for a delightful cameo appearance by Forrest J Ackerman at the end.

MONSTER MADHOUSE presents HORROR EXPRESS (1972)

Friday (2/17). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MONSTER MADHOUSE with Karlos Borloff, Slo Frank, and a cast of thousands presents HORROR EXPRESS (1972) starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Telly (Kojak) Savalas. Our three stars find themselves traveling on the Trans-Siberian Express, accompanied by the frozen remains of a primitive humanoid creature who, needless to say, doesn't stay frozen for long. As always, there will be plenty of insane hijinks by Borloff and the Madhouse crazies both during and in between segments of the movie. Truth be told, we lost count of the number of times Frank gets punched, poked, and slapped silly in tonight’s episode!

THE LATE DR LADY SHOW presents Jess Franco’s OASIS OF THE ZOMBIES (1981)

Saturday (2/18). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE LATE DR LADY SHOW with Dr. Lady, the Usual Suspects, and special guest Sluggo presents our all-time favorite Dr. Lady episode -- Jess Franco’s OASIS OF THE ZOMBIES(1981) aka Skull on a Stick. The movie is about an expedition searching for gold hidden by Field Marshall Rommel that comes up against an army of Nazi Zombies. But what really makes tonight's show completely off-the-wall are its hilarious skits, several of which feature our own Pink Lady.

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of THE HAUNTING OF JULIA (1977).

Sunday (2/189). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of THE HAUNTING OF JULIA (1977) aka Full Circle. Mia Farrow (sporting her Rosemary's Baby haircut) stars in this British-made thriller as a wealthy American woman named . . . you guessed it, Julia. She's living in London, trapped in an unhappy marriage, and haunted by the sadness of losing her child. Julia decides to ditch her hubby and move into a new house, which happens to be inhabited by the ghost of an obnoxious little girl who plans to use Julia as a pawn in her terrible revenge scheme. Unlike most of the foreign movies that sat on the shelf for years before being released in America, this one, based on the novel by Peter Straub who also wrote Ghost Story, is actually pretty good. And it's got a shocking and completely unexpected ending. Keir (2001: A Space Odyssey) Dullea costars. Note: Tonight's show will be followed by an encore presentation of Wednesday's SCREAMING SOUP: EVIL TOONS.

THE VORTEXX! SIX YEARS STRONG!!!!!

Welcome to THE VORTEXX where it's ALL HOSTS ALL THE TIME! We've got a terrific line-up of hosts, shows, and movies this week, including three new movies making their Vortexx debut, along with several returning favorites and a trip to The Peninsula of Horror on Saturday. Our hosts this week are Misty Brew, Bobby Gammonster & Boris the Buzzard, Freakshow & the Bordello gang, Edgar von Ghoul, Deadwood, Uncle Pete, Dave Binkley & Holly Schilthelm, Arachna & Deadly, and (at the Peninsula of Horror) Professor Gillman and Master Vyle. Enjoy our shows and thanks for hanging out!

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of ANTS! (1977)

Sunday (01/22). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of ANTS! (1977) aka It Happened at Lakewood Manor. Robert Foxworth, Suzanne Somers, Lynda Day George, Bernie Casey, Myrna Loy, and Brian Dennehy are among the stars in this TV movie about an army of poisonous ants that attack the residents of an old-fashioned lakeside hotel targeted for purchase by an unsavory gambling casino promoter. This was one of several movies made during the late 1970s to capitalize on the popularity of Jaws. Tonight's show will be followed at approximately 10:45 by an encore presentation of last Wednesday's episode of SCREAMING SOUP (DEADGIRL).

MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT presents Larry Buchanan's IN THE YEAR 2889 (1967)

Monday (01/23). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT with Bobby Gammonster and Boris the Buzzard presents Larry Buchanan's IN THE YEAR 2889 (1967). Although the movie's title is taken from a Jules Verne novel of the same name, it's actually a remake of Roger Corman's Day the World Ended (1955), and the story is set in the year 1977. A nuclear war has wiped out most of the human race, and a group of survivors in a Dallas mansion find themselves beset by rising radiation levels, a ruthless tough guy, and cannibalistic mutants. You heard right, folks -- cannibalistic mutants. It don't get any better than that! Former child actor Paul Petersen (The Donna Reed Show) stars as the lead survivor.

BORDELLO OF HORROR presents TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST (1976)

Tuesday (01/24). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Beelzabroad presents TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST (1976). Along with the movie, Freaky will be presenting footage from the March 2015 Horrorhound Weekend including the Horror Host Hall of Fame awards, interviews with producer Paul Travers from Old 37 and Fred Vogel from Toe Tag Productions, and music by The Renfields.

DEAD END DRIVE-IN presents The Vortexx premiere of KEEP MY GRAVE OPEN (1974)

Wednesday (01/25). 9:00 P.M. (ET) DEAD END DRIVE-IN with Edgar von Ghoul returns to the Vortexx for its second appearance! Tonight Edgar will be hosting The Vortexx premiere of KEEP MY GRAVE OPEN (1974) aka The House Where Hell Froze Over. This slow-moving but creepy thriller from S. F. Brownrigg, the director of Don't Look in the Basement, re-unites Basement cast members Camilla Carr and Gene Ross. Carr, who would later go on to become a successful novelist, stars as Lesley Fontaine, a troubled young woman who lives in an isolated farm estate miles from the nearest town. Murders are being committed in the vicinity, and Someone is responsible. Is it Lesley? Or perhaps her brother Kevin (Chelcie Ross), who may be real or may be a product of Lesley's overworked imagination. Gene Ross (Judge Oliver W. Cameron in Basement) plays Lesley's compassionate doctor. Larry Buchanan favorite Bill Thurman plays a hitchhiker looking for food, who becomes one of the victims.

SCREAMING SOUP reviews THE GREEN SLIME (1968)

Wednesday (01/25). 10:45 P.M. (ET) [Time approximate.] We welcome SCREAMING SOUP back to The Vortexx for its second appearance! Now entering its fourth season, this animated horror host show specializes in raunchy movie reviews. In tonight's episode our host Deadwest reviews THE GREEN SLIME (1968) while his friends try to defuse his rage over the film's lameness. The film itself might be lame and the monsters laughably ridiculous, but it's got one of the catchiest title songs in movie history. In addition to Deadwood, tonight's cast includes Billy, Eb'nstein, Deadbeat, Doc Rex, and Aleena.

UNCLE PETE'S DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN presents The Vortexx premiere of ABBY (1974)

Thursday (01/26). 9:00 P.M. (ET) Join us tonight as we welcome THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN with Uncle Pete back to The Vortexx. Now in its 9th year of Cult Movie Madness, this great show is broadcast on local cable on various stations in New York State, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire and is now spreading like The Blob throughout the Northeast. Tonight Uncle Pete will be hosting The Vortexx premiere of ABBY (1974). Think Blackula meets The Exorcist, and you have some idea of what this movie is all about. William (Blackula) Marshall stars as a bishop/archaeologist who unknowingly brings back a demon from Africa that takes over the body of his daughter-in-law. Released one year after The Exorcist, Warner Brothers wasn't too happy about this blatant rip-off, and their subsequent lawsuit kept the movie out of circulation for years.

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE presents NO HANDS ON THE CLOCK (1941)

Friday (01/27). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and Holly Schilthelm presents NO HANDS ON THE CLOCK (1941). Chester Morris, best known for playing jewel thief-turned-detective Boston Blackie in fourteen films during the 1940s, plays another detective in tonight's comedy-mystery released the same year as the first two Boston Blackie movies. In this one he is wise-cracking private detective Humphrey Campbell who impresses his boss no end by not only finding a missing girl (Jean Parker) but also marrying her in the process. But just as their honeymoon in Reno, Nevada, gets underway, Campbell is dragged into another missing person case, invoking the suspicions of his jealous bride as he investigates an assortment of blondes, brunettes, and redheads. In keeping with the theme of the movie title, tonight's episode was shot at Time Zone, a clock repair shop in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

THE PENINSULA OF HORROR presents DOUBLE DANGEROUS CHAT NIGHT

Saturday (01/28). 8:00 P.M. (ET) Join us tonight as THE PENINSULA OF HORROR -- the showcase for Florida's finest horror hosts -- presents DOUBLE DANGEROUS CHAT NIGHT! First up at 8 (ET) HOUSE OF MASTER VYLE PRESENTS will be hosting DELIGHTFULLY DANGEROUS (1945) starring fifteen-year-old Jane Powell as a young music school student who discovers that her big sister (Constance Moore) is a burlesque queen and not a celebrated Broadway star. Then stick around at 10:30 (ET) for the ultimate stoner movie REEFER MADNESS (1936). We guarantee the joint will be jumping tonight, so come on by for a smoking good time! As always, Professor Gillman will be broadcasting live from Lagoon House throughout the evening. A preshow for the Early Boids featuring Master Vyle's new MiniSode HAPPY NATIONAL TATER TOT DAY will air at 7 (ET).

PLEASE NOTE: Tonight's feature will be aired on The Peninsula of Horror's Livestream channel -- livestream.com/tpoh. Viewers who show up on The Vortexx channel Saturday night will be re-directed there, so you can save yourself a couple of steps by going directly to The Peninsula of Horror. We will be doing the chat through Chattango -- https://thepeninsulaofhorror.chatango.com/.... To see both the show and the chat, you need to have two windows open, one with the Peninsula and one with the chat.

BEWARE THEATER presents Herk Harvey's CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962)

Sunday (01/29). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly returns to The Vortexx with a brand-new episode and yet another monochromatic marvel from the Golden Age of Black & White. Tonight our hosts will be presenting Herk Harvey's CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962). Shot on a budget of $33,000 and largely ignored at the time of its release, this film has since become a cult classic. Reminiscent in many ways of an elongated Twilight Zone episode, it relies more on atmosphere than on special effects to create a mood of unease and foreboding. Candace Hilligoss stars as Mary Henry, a young lady who survives a car accident and becomes drawn to a mysterious abandoned carnival. Director Harvey appears uncredited as the pale man who is stalking Mary. Tonight's show will be followed at approximately 10:45 by an encore presentation of last Wednesday's episode of SCREAMING SOUP (THE GREEN SLIME).

LORD BLOOD-RAH’S TREMULOUS TRAILERS DOUBLE-HEADED DOUBLE FEATURE!
presents
DOUBLE-HEADED DOUBLE FEATURE!

Since we didn’t air it last Sunday, tonight’s featured movie will be preceded by a Double-Headed episode of LORD BLOOD-RAH’S TREMULOUS TRAILERS. Tonight Lord Blood-Rah will be presenting the trailers for THE INCREDIBLE TWO-HEADED TRANSPLANT (1971) and THE THING WITH TWO HEADS (1972).

Sunday (1/15). 9:15 P.M. (ET)
BEWARE THEATER
presents
Roger Corman’s THE GIANT LEECHES (1959)

[Time approximate.] BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents another cinematic gem from the Golden Age of Black & White — Roger Corman’s THE GIANT LEECHES (1959). If you’ve never seen sexy Yvette Vickers in the best role of her career (or if you want to see her again), tonight is your chance. The former Playboy playmate stars as bayou tramp “Liz Baby,” while Bruno VeSota plays her cuckolded husband, “Fat Dave” Walker. Watch Fat Dave force two-timing Liz and her no-good boyfriend Cal into the swamp, where they get punished for their “leechery” by our title characters. Who cares if the giant leeches are really men in suction-cup-covered suits that don’t quite fit over their air tanks? This cheeseball treat from the B-movie King is a lot of fun to watch!

Monday (1/16). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE
presents
Francis Ford Coppola’s DEMENTIA 13 (1963)

NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE with Vincent Grimmly, Phydeaux and special guests Bobby Gammonster and Boris The Buzzard presents Francis Ford Coppola’s DEMENTIA 13 (1963). Luana Anders stars as a scheming woman who devises a bizarre plan to gain control of her late husband’s money. Co-starring William Campbell and Patrick Magee and produced by Roger Corman, this is a great film with some truly shocking axe murders, a terrific twist ending, and lots of inventive photography. And we expect that Vincent will add to its entertainment value with his usual array of hilarious sound bites and video inserts.

Tuesday (1/17). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MR. MEPHISTO
presents
ALL-INFERNO INFERNO

Join us tonight for a special ALL-INFERNO INFERNO — a celebration of the life and career of MR MEPHISTO (Dick Flanigan), who sadly passed away on January 5, 2017. Mr. Mephisto was a horror host legend, having hosted LENNY’S INFERNO on WMTV-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, every Friday night at midnight from 1969 until 1982. His accomplishments were recognized by his fellow hosts in 2012 when he was inducted into the Horror Host Hall of Fame. Thanks to his good friend Rich “Freakshow” Peterson, The Big M (as he is affectionately known) was introduced to a whole new generation of viewers when he debuted in The Vortexx with fully reworked episodes on January 31, 2012. Please join us this evening as we honor Dick, his sidekick Voice in the Box (John Sveum), Valdimir the man with the axe (studio manger Bob Friedl), Beauregard Shirley Mumphord (Sveum), the Moat Beast, and the other crazy denizens of The Castle with a fond farewell to the late great Mr. Mephisto!

Wednesday (1/18). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
DANVERS’ DEMENTED FEATURES
presents
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925)

DEMENTED FEATURES with Danvers and special guests Penny Dreadful & Garou presents the 1925 silent classic PHANTOM OF THE OPERA starring Lon Chaney, Sr., and Mary Philbin. This is the first — and undoubtedly the best — adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel. No Phantom has ever looked scarier than Chaney, the sets created by Maurice Tourneur are fantastic, and tonight’s version is further enhanced by a rousing new musical score by Kevin MacLeod. In addition to the movie, Danvers will be presenting the first chapter of VARNEY THE VAMPIRE, based on the serialized novel first published in 1845-47 as a series of weekly cheap pamphlets known as “penny dreadfuls.” Tonight’s show concludes with a tribute to the king of horror hosts, Zacherley!

Wednessday (1/19). 10:45 P.M. (ET)
SCREAMING SOUP
presents
DEADGIRL (2008)

[Time approximate.] Tonight we welcome SCREAMING SOUP to The Vortexx! Now entering its fourth season, this animated horror host show specializes in raunchy movie reviews. Tonight’s episode is hosted by Deadwood, an outlaw whose life was cut short in a hail of gunfire until he was resurrected from his ditch grave by radioactive tractor beams from bovine thieving UFOs. He is ably assisted by Catfish, a drunken gill man who’s generally found soaking in a beer barrel at the Howl-Inn Grub and Spirits. Tonight our hosts will be skewering DEADGIRL (2008), a zombie movie which they describe as “a festering heap of teenage angst wrapped in a blanket of necrophilia.” Enjoy!

Thursday (1/19). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
TOXIC TALES WITH TIMBER WULFF
presents
The Vortexx premiere of ETERNAL EVIL (1985)

TOXIC TALES with Timber Wulff and co-hosts Mina Rowena the Vampire and Lucy Lovecraft the Ghoul presents The Vortexx premiere of ETERNAL EVIL (1985) aka The Blue Man. This Canadian-made thriller from the director of My Bloody Valentine is about a burned-out TV-director (Winston Rekert) who encounters a mysterious dancer (Karen Black) who teaches him the powers of astral projection. Before long, however, he starts having weird dreams, and people from his circle of acquaintances start dying unnatural deaths. Director George Mihalka livens up the film with some impressive camera tricks, especially during the astral projection sequences. Lois Maxwell, who played Miss Moneypenny in numerous James Bond movies, co-stars.

Friday (1/20). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MANSION OF MYSTERY
presents
The Vortexx premiere of PSYCHIC KILLER (1975)

MANSION OF MYSTERY with Scarlett Kaiju and CJ the Werewolf launches its third season with The Vortexx premiere of PSYCHIC KILLER (1975) aka The Kirlian Force. Jim (Ellery Queen) Hutton plays a wrongfully convicted man who inherits a magic amulet, which he uses to take vengeance on those responsible for his imprisonment and to romance psychiatrist Julie (Creature from the Black Lagoon) Adams. Guest victims include Creature co-star and veteran movie villain Whit Bissell (the mad scientist in I Was A Teenage Frankenstein and I Was A Teenage Werewolf), veteran bad guy Nehemiah Persoff (Little Bonaparte in Some Like It Hot), and Al Adamson favorite Graydon Clark. As the victims are stabbed, boiled, incinerated and put through a meat grinder, this may be the grisliest film ever to receive a PG rating from the MPAA! Meanwhile back at the Mansion, CJ, who is still traumatized by the events of the last episode, looks to help from a gypsy amulet to protect him from evil. However, the amulet brings evil to the Mansion in the form of its former owner and Ralphie, who stage a battle to the death over it. Can Scarlett and CJ stop them before they destroy the themselves and the Mansion? Find out tonight in this fun episode entitled Psychic Fiends Network.

Saturday (1/21). 3:30 P.M. (ET)
DEADGAR’S DARK COFFIN CLASSICS
presents
THOR AND THE AMAZON WOMEN (1963)

DEADGAR’S DARK COFFIN CLASSICS with Deadgar Winter, co-host Maleva Ravic, and special guest Wonder Woman presents THOR AND THE AMAZON WOMEN (1963) aka Les Gladiatrices. Our musclebound title hero (Joe Robinson) and his sidekick Ubaratutu (Harry Baird) go up against a race of scantily dressed Amazon warriors and their bloodthirsty Black Queen, who have enslaved the men of their country. As a form of entertainment, the Black Queen enslaves captive women and forces them to fight each other. The movie was filmed on location in the Postojna Caves in Slovenia. The set was apparently very cold, since water vapor can be seen coming from the mouths of the scantily clad Amazons in many of the scenes.

Sunday (1/22). 9:00 P.M. (ET) [Time approximate.]
MISTY BREW’S CREATURE FEATURE
presents
The Vortexx premiere of ANTS! (1977) aka It Happened at Lakewood Manor

MISTY BREW’S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of ANTS! (ET) BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents another monochromatic marvel from the Golden Age of Black & White -- Roger Corman's A BUCKET OF BLOOD (1959). In his only starring role, veteran character actor Dick Miller plays Walter Paisley, a coffeehouse busboy who gains recognition and respect as an artistic genius after he accidentally kills his cat and covers it with plaster. And now everyone's dying (literally!) to see his next creation. Corman regulars Bruno (Fat Dave) VeSota, Antony Carbone, and Barboura Morris add great support in this delightfully campy movie, while Julian Burton hams it up as the ultimate beat poet Maxwell H. Brock. Look for Bert Convey as the undercover narc who finds himself on the wrong end of Walter's frying pan.

MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE reviews BLACKOUT (1985)

Sunday (12/18). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) Please note: Arachna's show will be preceded by a MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE with Ron Purtee. Tonight Ron's new director has decided that he should talk about the 1985 HBO "classic" BLACKOUT starring Richard Widmark, Keith Carradine, Michael Beck, and Kathleen Quinlan. You might think with a cast like that, the director could have done a better job keeping the boom mic out of camera range!

DEADGAR'S DARK COFFIN CLASSICS presents SILENT NIGHT BLOODY NIGHT (1974)

Monday (12/19). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) DEADGAR'S DARK COFFIN CLASSICS with Deadgar Winter and co-hosts Sorceress Celeste & Maleva Ravic presents that perennial Christmas horror classic SILENT NIGHT BLOODY NIGHT (1974) starring Patrick O'Neal, John Carradine, and Andy Warhol favorites Mary Woronov, Candy Darling, Ondine, Kristen Steen, Tally Brown, and Lewis Love. A man returns to a house owned by his late grandfather that had once been an institution for the criminally insane. The grandfather died a horrible death in the house on Christmas Eve. Could the same fate be in store for the grandson? Join us tonight and find out. [Movie poster by Sean Hartter courtesy of Saturday Fright Special.]

BORDELLO OF HORROR presents DISMEMBERING CHRISTMAS (2015)

Tuesday (12/20). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Beelzabroad presents a heart-warming, gut-churning holiday treat from our friends at Slasher Studios -- DISMEMBERING CHRISTMAS (2015). It's a holiday of horrors for a group of teens at an isolated winter vacation house with a bloody past in this holiday-themed slasher film from the team who gave us Don't Go to the Reunion. If you think wreaths, candy canes, and Christmas trees can't kill anyone, better think again! Executive producer and co-writer Kevin Summerfield makes an uncredited appearance as the stepdad. During the host breaks Freaky will be entertaining us with special musical guests Droids Attack, a movie review by Mark Krawczyk from The Final Cut, and more!

REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM presents The Vortexx premiere of Rod Serling's A CAROL FOR ANOTHER CHRISTMAS (1964)

Wednesday (12/21). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM with Remo D. and co-hosts Dr. Montag, Kato the Black Hornet, and Firewater presents The Vortexx premiere of A CAROL FOR ANOTHER CHRISTMAS (1964). Rod (Twilight Zone) Serling wrote the script for this update of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and Academy Award winning writer-director Joseph L. Mankiewicz produced and directed this made-for-TV movie which first aired on ABC on December 28, 1964 and was not aired again until Turner Classic Movies broadcast it in 2012. The all-star cast includes Peter Sellers, Sterling Hayden (his co-star in Dr. Strangelove), Britt Ekland, Ben Gazarra, Steve Lawrence, Robert Shaw, and Eva Marie Saint. Meanwhile back in the Manor, Remo and the gang enact their own version of the Dickens classic.

LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964)

Thursday (12/22). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964). No week of Christmas shows would be compete without this perennial holiday classic! We air it every year in The Vortexx, but tonight will be your first time to see Lord Blood-Rah's take on this unique Christmas stinker. John Call, who enjoyed a 30-year career on Broadway, stars as Santa; Tony Award winner (and Jamie Farr lookalike) Bill McCutcheon is the buffoonish Martian Dropo; and a prepubescent Pia Zadora is the little Martian girl Girmar. We expect that Lord Blood-Rah will liven up the proceedings with his usual assortment of movie trailers and other cool extras.

MANSION of MYSTERY presents The Vortexx premiere of IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE...IT'S SUPERMAN (1975)

Friday (12/23). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) Join us tonight as MANSION of MYSTERY ends its Second Season with a fun episode entitled Musical Crisis. As we learned last month, Scarlett Kaiju has contacted Tripp Punter and the new Legends of Fifteen Minutes Ago for help as people have suddenly begun breaking out in song for no reason. And what is the goal of the mysterious figure known as The Phantom of the Mansion? Fittingly enough, tonight's movie is a musical -- The Vortexx premiere of IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE...IT'S SUPERMAN (1975). It's a cringe-worthy made-for-TV adaptation of the 1966 stage musical that will make you nostalgic for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. According to Scarlett, who appeared in a local production some years back, the original wasn't too bad. However, this version was apparently mounted by the only people in the free world unfamiliar with the characters and situations. Miscasting abounds with Kenneth (Young Frankenstein) Mars as a suave gossip columnist, Allen (Password) Ludden as Perry White, and Loretta (M*A*S*H) Swit as a spunky ingénue. Other actors -- Leslie (Cinderella) Warren as Lois Lane and David (Ellery Queen) Wayne as a grandfatherly mad scientist - just seem confused. And, sadly, our Man of Steel, David (Eddie and the Cruisers) Wilson, is both miscast and confused. The script suffers from having an entire plot line and major character removed, and the music - a large portion of which is scuttled - is presented in tinny 70s variety show style. This is gonna be the new movie you love to hate! [Superman artwork by Joshua Werner.]

CHRISTMAS DADDY SPECIAL!

Saturday (12/24). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) Tonight is The Night Before Christmas and that means our very own bearer of Yuletide gifts will be coming to The Vortexx for a CHRISTMAS DADDY SPECIAL! A new slack module . . . a membership in the Puppy of the Month Club . . . a Dr Lady action figure . . . a singing Sluggo plushie that also does lap dances. . . . Those are just a few of the wonderful gifts that Christmas Daddy has given to our viewers in years past. Whatever it is you asked for this year, Christmas Daddy will be here tonight to read your e-mails, show your videos, and make your Christmas wishes come true. As always, there will be plenty of cartoons and other extra cool stuff to keep you entertained throughout the night. Please note: For those of you who couldn't tune in earlier, or who just want to see it again, Christmas Daddy's show will be repeated at approximately 11:00 P.M. (E.T.)

LORD BLOOD-RAH'S TREMULOUS TRAILERS and A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS WITH MISTY BREW!

Sunday (12/25). 9:00 P.M. (E.T.) Merry Christmas to all our friends in The Vortexx! After you've finished opening the presents and enjoyed your Christmas dinner, come on over to The Vortexx for a special holiday treat! No Vortexx Christmas would be complete without Night of the Living Dead so we're going to air the very first episode of LORD BLOOD-RAH'S TREMULOUS TRAILERS and get LBR's take on George Romero's Zombie classic. Then stick around for A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS WITH MISTY BREW! Misty will be presenting a generous assortment of Christmas-themed cartoons, commercials, movie trailers, short features, and oddball items such as Alice Cooper's twisted rendition of The Night Before Christmas. And since it's Christmas, Santa will, of course, be making an appearance!

Enjoy the shows and thanks for hanging out!

CHRISTMAS DADDY will make all your Christmas wishes come true!

Christmas is little more than a month away, and that means our very own bearer of Yuletide gifts CHRISTMAS DADDY will be coming to The Vortexx soon to make your Christmas wishes come true. A new slack module . . . a membership in the Puppy of the Month Club . . . a Dr Lady action figure . . . a singing Sluggo plushie that also does lap dances. . . . MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of Arthur Conan Doyle's THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (1939)

Sunday (12/11). 9:00 P.M. (ET) MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents The Vortexx premiere of Arthur Conan Doyle's THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (1939). The game is afoot tonight as Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce star in the first (and arguably the best) of the fourteen movies that they would make together as Sherlock Holmes and his bumbling sidekick Dr. Watson between 1939 and 1946. Richard Greene (who received top billing when the movie was released) co-stars as Sir Henry Baskerville, the heir to the cursed Baskerville estate. Cast members under suspicion include horror veterans Lionel Atwill as Dr. James Mortimer and John Carradine as Barryman the butler. Misty's show will be preceded by a MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE with Ron Purtee. Tonight Ron takes a few moments to talk about Kevin Smith's new horror-comedy YOGA HOSERS (2016).

FORMERLY CRAPPICS presents The Vortexx premiere of LADY IN THE DEATH HOUSE (1944)

Monday (12/12). 9:00 P.M. (ET) FORMERLY CRAPPICS with Freezer Mortis presents The Vortexx premiere of LADY IN THE DEATH HOUSE (1944). Veteran B-movie villain Lionel Atwill is the good guy this time in the role of a criminologist investigating the case of a woman (Jean Parker) wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to die in the chair. In a weird twist, the executioner (Douglas Fowley) is also her boyfriend. Will Lionel find the real killer in time to save the poor woman? If you don't know the answer to that question, you haven't watched enough B-movies! Because of the relatively short length of tonight's movie, Freezer will be adding a second short feature in the same crime drama vein as the main feature.

BORDELLO OF HORROR presents Al Adamson's BRAIN OF BLOOD (1974)

Tuesday (12/13). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Beelzabroad presents Al Adamson's BRAIN OF BLOOD (1971). Kent Taylor stars as a mad scientist who transplants the brain of a dying ruler into the body of the scientist's hulking, imbecilic, acid-scarred servant Gor (John Bloom). Much mayhem ensues. Wee person Angelo Rossito plays the scientist's maniacal assistant Dorro. Zandor Vorkov (actually stockbroker Roger Engel), best known as the blue-faced Count Zappula from Adamson's Dracula vs. Frankenstein, also makes an appearance. Along with the movie Freaky will be presenting special musical guest Kitty in a Casket, a movie review with Mark "The Movie Maniac" from The Final Cut, and more!

DEMENTED FEATURES WITH DANVERS presents F. W. Murnau's NOSFERATU (1922)

Wednesday (12/14). 9:00 P.M. (ET) DEMENTED FEATURES with Danvers and special guest Count Gore de Vol presents F. W. Murnau's silent classic NOSFERATU (1922). Max Schreck plays the blood sucking vampire count in one of the first -- and definitely one of the scariest -- screen adaptations of Bram Stoker's Dracula. For legal reasons, the filmmakers had to call him Count Orlok, but trust us folks he's really Dracula. In addition to the movie, Danvers will be presenting the trailer for VARNEY THE VAMPIRE (OR, THE FEAST OF BLOOD), based on the "penny dreadful" serialized novel from the 1840s.

MUMMY TV CHRISTMAS SHOW!

Thursday (12/15). 9:00 P.M. (ET) We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Mummy back to The Vortexx with the MUMMY TV CHRISTMAS SHOW! If you're feeling Grinchy this year, never fear. Mr. and Mrs. Mummy have the cure! Last year's Christmastime favorite is back -- a special two-hour edition of Mummy TV's Episode #9 Christmas Spirits. We guarantee it'll make your heart grow three sizes larger! Once again, the highlight of the show will be SANTA AND THE THREE BEARS (1970) -- a 45-minute animated feature with a warm Christmas-y feeling throughout. Tonight's show will be a cornucopia of Holiday/Christmas themed goodness, including movie trailers, retro TV commercials, cartoons, and, of course, music. You won't be hearing White Christmas for the millionth time tonight, but the Mummys will be entertaining us with their own holiday music Christmas Balls which they play only one time each year.

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE presents ONE BODY TOO MANY (1944)

Friday (12/16). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and co-host Shannon Steele presents ONE BODY TOO MANY (1944). Bela Lugosi plays yet another sinister butler in this lighthearted murder mystery starring Jack Haley (best remembered as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz) as an insurance salesman who is hired to guard the body of an eccentric millionaire the night his will is to be read. In keeping with the theme of tonight's movie, this episode was filmed at the Slate Farm Insurance Co. (not to be confused with a well-known agency with a similar name), where Dave and Shannon meet Mike the Insurance Man. And be sure to get there on time tonight so you don't miss a special appearance by Dale Kay.

THE "RIGGOR MORTISS PRESENTS" MARATHON!

Saturday (12/17). 10:00 A.M. (ET) on the Eerie Late Night Horror Channel and 9:00 P.M. (ET) in The Vortexx. We invite all our viewers to join us today and tonight for THE "RIGGOR MORTISS PRESENTS" MARATHON -- a special benefit event co-sponsored by The Vortexx and the Eerie Late Night Horror Channel. Riggor is suffering from a cancerous tumor and needs help paying his medical bills. We hope that all our viewers will show their appreciation for this great host by watching his shows and making a donation to his GoFundMe page. No donation is too small! The marathon begins on Eerie Late Night at approximately 10AM and continues all day until 9PM when we will all head over to The Vortexx to watch Riggor, his charming co-host Nyte Angel, and special guest Dr. Sigmund Zoid present KING OF THE ZOMBIES (1941) starring Mantan Moreland, Henry (Freaks) Victor, Dick Foran, and Joan Woodbury.

BEWARE THEATER presents Roger Corman's A BUCKET OF BLOOD (1959)

Sunday (12/18). 9:00 P.M. Arachna's show will be preceded by a MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE with Ron Purtee. Tonight Ron's new director has decided that he should talk about the 1985 HBO "classic" BLACKOUT.

BEWARE THEATER presents Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959)

Sunday (12/4). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People presents another gem from the golden age of black-and-white -- Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959). A couple of pompous aliens in silk pajamas (Dudley Manlove and Joanna Lee) and their leader The Ruler (Bunny Breckinridge) plan to resurrect Bela Lugosi, Vampira, and Tor Johnson as slow moving zombies. Why? Because all you of Earth are idiots, that's why! Bela died shortly before shooting began, so Ed used some footage he had of Bela, wrote a script around it, and persuaded his wife's chiropractor (Tom Mason) to shoot the rest of the scenes with a cape hiding his face. Did he really think no one would notice? We're sure Arachna is going to have a lot of fun with this post-Thanksgiving turkey!

MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE presents SHUT IN (2016)

Please Note: Arachna's show will be preceded by a MOVIE HOUSE HOT TAKE with Ron Purtee. Tonight Ron takes a few moments to talk about the Canadian-made thriller SHUT IN (2016) starring Naomi Watts.

RIGGOR MORTISS PRESENTS presents Mario Bava's THE MASK OF SATAN (1960)

Monday (12/5). 9:00 P.M. (ET) RIGGOR MORTISS PRESENTS with Riggor and Nyte Angel presents Mario Bava's THE MASK OF SATAN (1960). Scream queen Barbara Steele plays a dual role as a vengeful witch who returns from the grave and the beautiful descendant whose body she wants to possess. On a personal note, Riggor is suffering from a cancerous tumor and needs help paying his medical bills. We hope that all who enjoy tonight's episode of Riggor Mortiss Presents will show their appreciation for this great host and this great show by making a donation to Riggor's GoFundMe page. No donation is too small!

BORDELLO OF HORROR presents DEVIL TIMES FIVE (1974)

Tuesday (12/6). 9:00 P.M. (ET) BORDELLO OF HORROR presents DEVIL TIMES FIVE (1974). Five psycho kids escape from a mental hospital and proceed to terrorize and kill a group of adults on a winter vacation at a remote mountain ski lodge. Hammers, axes, chains, and even a piranha and a snowman are all involved in the carnage. Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) plays one of the adults; former child actor Leif Garrett is one of the psycho kids. This is Mistress Malicious's debut show, folks, so don't miss it! In addition to the movie, Freakshow will be presenting musical guest DR.CHUD's X-Ward, a movie review by Mark The Movie Maniac from The Final Cut, and more!

ALTERNATIVE REALITIES presents WAR OF THE MONSTERS (1966)

Wednesday (12/7). 9:00 P.M. (ET) Thanksgiving may be officially over but were bringing it back tonight with the ALTERNATIVE REALITIES THANKSGIVING SHOW! Tonight Dr. Zoid and Sluggo are hosting WAR OF THE MONSTERS (1966) aka Gamera vs. Barugon, which first aired in The Vortexx as a special Thanksgiving episode on November 29, 2013. Gamera the Flying Turtle goes mano a mano against Barugon, the Demon Dog from Hell, in this second entry in the popular Gamera series. Needless to say, Tokyo takes its usual beating before Gamera finally saves the day.

CINEMA INSOMNIA WITH MR. LOBO presents Dario Argento's DEEP RED (1975)

Thursday (12/8). 9:00 P.M. (ET) CINEMA INSOMNIA WITH MR. LOBO presents Dario Argento's DEEP RED (1975). This stylish and imaginative shocker by the master of Italian horror was released a year before Suspiria. David Hemmings stars as an Englishman in Rome who witnesses a murder and then teams up with a feisty reporter to find the killer. He finds many of his avenues of inquiry cut off by new murders and begins to wonder how the murderer can track his movements so closely.

THE LATE DR. LADY SHOW presents Michael Winner's THE SENTINEL (1977)

Friday (12/9). 9:00 P.M. (ET) THE LATE DR. LADY SHOW with Dr. Lady and the Usual Suspects returns to The Vortexx to present Michael Winner's THE SENTINEL (1977). John Carradine plays a mute priest who guards the gates of Hell in this supernatural thriller, which also stars Chris (Fright Night) Sarandon, Cristina Raines, and Burgess Meredith. An all-star supporting cast includes Martin (Psycho) Balsam, Tom Berenger, Beverly D'Angelo, Richard Dreyfuss, Jose Ferrer, Ava Gardner, Jeff Goldblum, Arthur Kennedy, Jerry Orbach, Eli Wallach, and Christopher Walken. This movie generated some controversy when it was discovered that Winner had used real human oddities to play the misshapen characters in the memorable concluding scene.

LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents ATTACK FROM SPACE (1964)

Saturday (12/10). 9:00 P.M. (ET) LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents ATTACK FROM SPACE (1964). Paunchy superhero Starman must once again rescue the Earth -- this time from an invasion by an evil alien race called the Spherions. Dubbed and re-edited from the Super Giant featurettes of the late 1950s, this is an entertaining Japanese cheese fest with many unintended laughs. And we can depend on Lord Blood-Rah to liven things up with movie trailers, trivia, and other cool stuff, including we hope a cranial cavity search.

Monday (11/28). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
RIGGOR MORTISS
presents
ZONTAR: THE THING FROM VENUS (1966)

RIGGOR MORTISS PRESENTS with Riggor and Nyte Angel presents Larry Buchanan's ZONTAR: THE THING FROM VENUS (1966). Larry is remembered as the "Ed Wood of Made-for-TV Movies" because of eight direct-to-television films he wrote, produced, and directed in the mid- and late-1960s for American International Pictures -- all remakes of much better AIP films from a decade earlier. Buchanan's instructions from AIP were: "We want cheap color pictures, we want half-assed names in them, we want them eighty minutes long, and we want them now." Tonight's movie is a remake of Roger Corman's It Conquered the World (1956). It stars John (Mr. Shirley Temple) Agar, but Anthony Huston steals the movie with an hilarious over-the-top performance as Agar's scientist friend who finds himself working in cahoots with our title monster.

Tuesday (11/29). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BORDELLO OF HORROR
presents
SCREAM BLOODY MURDER (1973)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt and Marijohuana presents SCREAM BLOODY MURDER (1973). A young man kills his father with a farm tractor, mangles his hand, gets sent to a mental hospital, goes even more nutzoid when he finds out his mother has remarried, and kills her and his stepfather. And that's only the first 20 minutes! Filmed in 1971, this was one of the earliest slasher films -- preceding Halloween and Friday the 13th by almost a decade. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with special musical guests Devil to Drag, a movie review by Mark Krawczyk from The Final Cut, and more!

Wednesday (11/30). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
TOXIC TALES
presents
TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE (1959)

TOXIC TALES with Timber Wulff and co-hosts Mina Rowena the Vampire and Lucy Lovecraft the Ghoul presents TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE (1959). Overage teens brandishing Hubley's Atomic Disintegrator cap guns (in some scenes the words "Hubley's" can clearly be seen embossed on the side of the gun) plan to take over the earth. The teen aliens are aided in their nefarious scheme by a lobster-like creature called The Gargon. Unfortunately, the film's producers couldn't afford to construct a giant lobster, so only its shadow is seen. David Love stars as good teen alien Derek; Bryan Grant is bad teen alien Thor. Veteran character actor (and Ed Wood favorite) Harvey B. Dunn plays Gramps Morgan, while director Tom Graeff has a small role as reporter Joe Rogers. Meanwhile back at the Behead and Breakfast, Timber is under the weather. Could it have something to do with this stinker of a movie we're watching tonight?

Thursday (12/01). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
DEMENTED FEATURES with Danvers
presents
HAXAN (1922) aka Witchcraft Through the Ages

DEMENTED FEATURES with Danvers presents a newly edited version of the silent classic HAXAN (1922) aka Witchcraft Through the Ages. This is a highly entertaining history lesson with dramatic re-creations of the witchcraft trials of the 15th and 16th centuries mixed in with fantasy scenes and some comedy. Director Benjamin Christiansen makes a cameo appearance as the Devil. Danvers has cut out the boring stuff at the beginning and eliminated some outdated material to make this venerable classic even more entertaining. Our movie will be preceded by the indie horror short Darkness Reveals (2008). Penny & Garou make a brief appearance at the beginning of the show, so don't be late!

Friday (12/02). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE
presents
DETOUR (1945)

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and co-host Holly Schilthelm presents DETOUR (1945). This cult favorite directed by the legendary Edgar G. Ulmer stars Tom Neal as a down-and-out nightclub pianist who hitchhikes from New York to L.A. to hook up with his waitress girlfriend (Claudia Drake). The things that happen to him in just 69 short, fast-moving minutes are truly amazing. In keeping with the theme of tonight's movie, the host bits were shot on the open road at various locations in Akron and Hudson, Ohio, in Dave's car, where he and Holly lock horns with Dave's wise-cracking GPS and finally run out of gas.

Saturday (12/03). 3:30 P.M. (ET)
PENINSULA OF HORROR
presents
THE GORILLA (1939)

PUBLIC DOMAIN DRIVE-IN with Cnl. Graves and Smiley Bones presents THE GORILLA (1939). The Ritz Brothers (the poor man's Marx Brothers) play bumbling detectives investigating a series of monkey-suit murders. Bela Lugosi plays yet another sinister butler. Lionel Atwill plays the rich guy who hires The Brothers to protect him. Patsy Kelly steals the show as Atwill's ditzy maid. Believe it or not, this stinker was produced by Darryl F. Zanuck who produced an astounding 15 Academy Award nominated films. Need we add . . . this is not one of them!

Sunday (12/04). 9:00 P.M. (ET) [Time approximate.]
BEWARE THEATER
presents
Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959)

BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People presents another gem from the golden age of black-and-white -- Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959). A couple of pompous aliens in silk pajamas (Dudley Manlove and Joanna Lee) and their leader The Ruler (Bunny Breckinridge) plan to resurrect Bela Lugosi, Vampira, and Tor Johnson as slow moving zombies. Our three stars find themselves traveling on the Trans-Siberian Express, accompanied by the frozen remains of a primitive humanoid creature who, needless to say, doesn’t stay frozen for long. As always, Vincent has added some pizzazz to the mix with numerous sound inserts and other extras. Meanwhile back at Castle Pappdeckel, Phydeaux comes down with a fatal case of the bird flu. Is Phydeaux REALLY dead? Find out tonight in this fun episode.

SPIDER BABY (1968)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt and Marijohuana celebrates its 100th episode with a Vortexx favorite — SPIDER BABY (1968). In one of the best roles of his career, Lon Chaney, Jr., stars as Bruno, the caretaker of three orphaned siblings who suffer from “Merrye Syndrome” – a rare disease which causes them to mentally, socially, and physically regress backwards. Lon also sings the title song as the opening credits roll! Sid Haig, Carol Ohmart, and Mantan Moreland co-star. Tonight’s episode was filmed at the October 1 live show at the Al. Ringling Theatre in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

DOMINIQUE IS DEAD (1979)

MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT with Bobby Gammonster and Boris the Buzzard presents DOMINIQUE IS DEAD (1979). Academy Award winner Cliff Robertson, who could play good guys (including an American president) and bad guys with equal ease, stars as a greedy husband who drives his wife (Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Jean Simmons) to suicide so that he can get his hands on her fortune . . . only to find out that she has come back from the dead to haunt him! Dominique is dead, all right. She’s all messed up. Jenny Agutter, Simon Ward, Ron Moody, Judy Geeson, and Flora Robson round out a strong cast in this British made-for-television horror-mystery-thriller.

The marathon will run from approx 11:15 P.M. on Wednesday until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday.

Thursday (11/24). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
The 2016 Golden Turkey Day Award Winner
presents
EEGAH! (1962)

Now that Thanksgiving is almost over and you’ve had your fill of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pie, come on by The Vortexx for our THANKSGIVING GOLDEN TURKEY DAY SPECIAL! Tonight we will be airing a brand-new episode hosted by the winner of the 2016 Golden Turkey Award. We can’t tell you the name of the host, but we will tell you the name of the movie. It’s none other than EEGAH! (1962) starring Sluggo’s heartthrob Arch Hall, Jr. and co-starring Marilyn Manning. Arch and Marilyn play a couple of clean-cut teens named Tom and Roxy who stumble across a giant prehistoric caveman (Richard Jaws Kiel) in Bronson Canyon (the same place where Ro-Man cavorted a decade earlier). Roxy befriends the caveman and gives him a shave, and the big galoot falls in love with her. This is a love story that you know cannot end happily. Arch Hall, Sr., plays Roxy’s dad, while Arch’s mom (Addalyn Pollitt) and Ray Dennis Steckler (aka Cash Flagg) appear in smaller roles.

Friday (11/25). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MANSION OF MYSTERY
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
SLIPSTREAM! (1989)

MANSION of MYSTERY with special guest host Tripp Punter presents The Vortexx premiere of SLIPSTREAM (1989) directed by Steven (TRON) Lisberger. Bill Paxton (of Titanic and Aliens) stars as a bounty hunter in a dystopian future who kidnaps a murderer (Bob Peck) out of the hands of two police officers (Mark Hamill of Star Wars and Kitty Aldridge) so he can claim the bounty for himself. The two men travel among several bizarre societies with the police officers in hot pursuit. The strong supporting cast includes F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter), and Ben Kingsley (Gandhi). Meanwhile our guest host Tripp Punter, leader of the Legends of Fifteen Minutes Ago, and his trusty A.I. Caiaphas set out to reassemble the team after the events of their last appearance in July. Their mission is complicated by a stowaway who mistakes Tripp for another, more famous time traveler, leading to a series of visits to other times and places, each housing a familiar face. The events of this fun episode, entitled “No Time Like the Future”, lead into the epic season finale, coming next month.

MISTY BREW'S
CREATURE FEATURE

presents
WHITE ZOMBIE (1932)

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents WHITE ZOMBIE (1932) starring Bela Lugosi. It's the first zombie movie ever -- and still arguably one of the best! Fresh from his success in Dracula, Lugosi plays the evil Murder Legendre, who can control people with a little white powder, a hand clench, and a nasty glare. In addition to great sets (borrowed from Universal) and lots of living dead (courtesy of master makeup man Jack Pierce), there's some pretty weird music, some of it by Xavier Cugat. [Bela Lugosi artwork courtesy of Bradley Beard.]

We welcome MOVIE HOUSE with Ron Purtee to The Vortexx!

Tonight's episode of Misty Brew will be preceded by The Vortexx premiere of MOVIE HOUSE hosted by Ron Purtee. Born at an early age in the town of Racine, Wisconsin, Ron is a stand-up comedian, former host of a cable access show, and the director, writer, and producer of numerous short films. Tonight Ron takes a few moments to talk about the new Marvel film DOCTOR STRANGE. You can find additional movie reviews and other cool stuff at Ron's YouTube channel and at his website: patreon.com/ronpurtee

Monday (11/14). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
FORMERLY CRAPPICS
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
VOODOO MAN (1944)

FORMERLY CRAPPICS with Freezer Mortis presents The Vortexx premiere of VOODOO MAN (1944). Only rarely does Freezer offer us a feature film with even one truly notable actor. VOODOO MAN has three (count 'em, three!) legends of horror -- Bela Lugosi, George Zucco, and John Carradine. Sporting a goatee and a sorcerer's robe decorated with stars and crescents, Lugosi plays Dr. Richard Marlowe -- a mad scientist who is attempting to revive his long-dead wife by kidnapping young girls and draining them of their life essence. Carradine is the dim-witted servant who takes care of the zombified gals while the Master is away. Zucco is the local gas station owner who lures the hapless victims to Bela's place. VOODOO MAN! We'll drink to that!

Tuesday (11/15). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BORDELLO OF HORROR
presents
George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Marijohuana presents George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968). This is a movie that needs no introduction, but we're going to give you one anyway. It's about six bickering humans and a sick little girl trapped in a farmhouse with an army of zombies outside. Ben wants to be boss of the upstairs. Cooper wants to be boss of the cellar. Sparks fly and assorted body parts get devoured before it all comes to a flesh-ripping gut-munching climax. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with special musical guests Eddie Ate Dynamite and more!

Wednesday (11/16). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
TOXIC TALES
WITH TIMBER WULFF

presents
VAMPYR (1932)

TOXIC TALES with Timber Wulff and co-hosts Mina Rowena the Vampire and Lucy Lovecraft the Ghoul presents Carl Theodor Dreyer's VAMPYR (1932). Released just one year after Tod Browning's Dracula, this German-French co-production, based loosely on Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla, is now regarded as a classic. Baron Nicolas de Gunzburg, a French-born Russian nobleman, financed the movie in return for the leading role of Allan Grey, a student of the occult who visits the village of Courtempierre, which is under the curse of a vampire. Meanwhile back at the Behead and Breakfast, Mina's sister comes to visit. Will Timber make it through VAMPYR? Or will he become lunch? Only one way to find out!

Thursday (11/17). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
STAR PILOT (1966)

REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAHEM with co-hosts Dr. Montag & Kato the Black Hornet and Ms. Atoz (who's seized dominion of the Manor) kicks off its 20th season with The Vortexx premiere of STAR PILOT (1966) aka 2+5: Mission Hydra. This Italian space opera, made on a shoestring budget with laughable special effects, was re-titled and released in the United States in 1977 to cash in on the Star Wars craze. Kirk Morris and Gordon Mitchell, both known for flexing their muscles in a series of sword-and-sandal epics, appear along with a cast of Italian unknowns in this tale of a spaceship from the constellation Hydra that crash lands in Rome. The aliens kidnap a prominent scientist, his daughter, several young technicians, and a pair of Asian spies and then take off with the earthlings for their home planet after their engine is repaired. Once in space, the pesky humans attempt to mutiny against their alien captors. Leontine May, who plays the scientist's sexy daughter Luisa, and Leonora Ruffo, who plays red-headed space-siren Kaena, provide the eye candy, wearing a variety of outfits so skimpy they could bring even a Vulcan out in a sweat.

Friday (11/18). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE
presents
Roger Corman's VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968)

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD (GUY) MOVIE with Dave Binkley and co-hosts Mike Novak and Ranger Jim (Vilk) presents Roger Corman's VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968). Marilyn Monroe wannabe Mamie Van Doren stars as Moana, the leader of a tribe of Venusian women who wear clamshell bikinis, worship a pterodactyl god, and spend a lot of time lying around the beach. This movie uses the same footage from the Russian-made Planet of Storms that Corman used three years earlier in Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet. Acclaimed director Peter Bogdanovich directed the American scenes under the pseudonym Derek Thomas and also supplies the narration. In between segments of the movie, Dave and Mike go camping and fishing at Weirdnessville State Park, where they try to stay out of trouble with Ranger Jim.

Saturday (11/19). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
DEMENTED FEATURES
presents
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925)

DEMENTED FEATURES returns to the Vortexx with a brand-new episode! Tonight Danvers will be welcoming special guests Penny Dreadful & Garou as he hosts the 1925 silent classic PHANTOM OF THE OPERA starring Lon Chaney, Sr., and Mary Philbin. This is the first -- and undoubtedly the best -- adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel. No Phantom has ever looked scarier than Chaney, the sets created by Maurice Tourneur are fantastic, and tonight's version is further enhanced by a rousing new musical score by Kevin MacLeod. In addition to the movie, Danvers will be presenting the first chapter of VARNEY THE VAMPIRE, based on the serialized novel first published in 1845-47 as a series of weekly cheap pamphlets known as "penny dreadfuls." Tonight's show concludes with a tribute to the king of horror hosts, Zacherley! [Phantom artwork courtesy of Bradley Beard.]

Sunday (11/20). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BEWARE THEATER
presents
THE MESA OF LOST WOMEN (1953)

VORTEXX ELECTION WEEK SCHEDULE FOR NOVEMBER 6 – 13, 2016

Welcome to The Vortexx where it's been ALL HOSTS ALL THE TIME FOR SIX YEARS! We've got a great line-up of shows, hosts, and movies coming your way this week including several shows with political themes in keeping with the election season. FOUR movies will be making their Vortexx debut, including a Formerly Crappics Election Eve Special on Monday, a Bordello of Horror Election Day Special on Tuesday, a political thriller with many guest hosts on Mansion of Mystery on Friday , and a freaking hilarious episode of Alternative Realities on Saturday. For the remainder of the week, we have Roger Corman, Arch Hall, Jr., Klaus Kinski, and Bela Lugosi. Our hosts this week are Arachna & Deadly, Freezer Mortis, Freakshow & the Bordello gang, Edgar von Ghoul, Mr. Lobo, Scarlett Kaiju & CJ the Werewolf, Dr. Sigmund Zoid & Sluggo, and Misty Brew. And be sure to check our Sponsors section for a great deal on Vortexx tee shirts! Enjoy the shows and thanks for hanging out!

Sunday (11/06). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BEWARE THEATER
presents
Roger Corman's CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA (1961)

BEWARE THEATER returns to The Vortexx with a brand-new episode and another classic from the Golden Age of Black & White. Tonight Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly are hosting Roger Corman's CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA (1961). Anthony Carbone, doing his best Bogie imitation, plays small-time crook Renzo Capetto who hatches a scheme to steal the national treasury of a Caribbean island with the help of a mythical sea monster -- who turns out to be real. Betsy Jones-Moreland plays Renzo's girlfriend Mary-Belle Monahan. Ed Wain (actually Academy Award winning screenwriter Robert Towne) is agent Sparks Moran. Beach Dickerson steals every scene he's in as a guy who communicates with animal noises. Don't expect to be scared, because it's all played for laughs.

Monday (11/07). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
FORMERLY CRAPPICS
presents
THE ELECTION EVE SPECIAL
and The Vortexx premiere of
1984 (1984)

As the election season draws to an end, we all have a very crucial decision to make on this important evening. Are you going to watch cable or network news. . . . Or are you going to watch THE FORMERLY CRAPPICS ELECTION EVE SPECIAL with Freezer Mortis. Tonight Freezer will be hosting The Vortexx premiere of 1984, made in the year 1984 and starring John Hurt and Richard Burton. Much like the George Orwell novel, this film adaptation is bleak and dreary but it's created that way on purpose, unlike the usual bleak and dreary fare we air in The Vortexx. Freezer feels that tonight's movie doesn't emphasize the concept of "Ministries" quite as much as the novel, so he's going to remedy that deficiency with some special guest hosts, who will be reporting from various Ministries about what was actually happening in the year 1984. So those are your choices, folks. We hope you choose what you believe is best for yourself, your family, and our country.

Tuesday (11/08). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BORDELLO OF HORROR
presents
THE ELECTION DAY SPECIAL
and The Vortexx premiere of
PRESIDENT WOLFMAN (2012)

Join us tonight for a BORDELLO OF HORROR ELECTION DAY SPECIAL! As the election returns roll in, Freakshow will be hosting The Vortexx premiere of Mike Davis's PRESIDENT WOLFMAN (2012). The President of the United States has been bitten by a werewolf and is loose on the streets of Washington on a killing rampage! This comedy-horror political satire is based on the 1973 movie Werewolf of Washington, which has been re-cut, re-dubbed, and beefed up with additional footage culled from more than one hundred government instructional shorts, classroom education movies, vintage stag reels, and other features that have fallen out of copyright -- and out of public favor. This is a one-of-a-kind movie that you won't want to miss!

Wednesday (11/09). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MIDNIGHT CHILLERS
presents
THE SADIST (1963)
Starring Arch Hall, Jr.

Arch Hall, Jr. returns to The Vortexx as MIDNIGHT CHILLERS with Edgar von Ghoul presents THE SADIST (1963). The character Arch plays in tonight's movie is definitely not the clean-cut, wholesome guy you saw in Eegah and Wild Guitar. In what is undoubtedly the best (and by far the scariest) movie role of his career, Arch plays crazed serial killer Charlie Tibbs, inspired by real life killer Charles Starkweather. Marilyn Manning (who played Arch's girlfriend Roxy in Eegah) is his teenage girlfriend Judy (inspired by Stark's real-life honey Caril Fugate) who's even more whacked out than he is. Together, Charlie and Judy terrorize a trio of high school teachers, who are on their way to a Dodgers game in Los Angeles when their car experiences engine trouble and they're forced to pull off the road to the gas station/junkyard where the two killers happen to be hiding out. Arch's convincing performance, a taut script and decent direction by James Landis, and outstanding camera work by soon-to-be famous cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond make this one our favorite Arch Hall, Jr. movie.

Thursday (11/10). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
CINEMA INSOMNIA
WITH MR. LOBO

presents
CREATURE (1985)

CINEMA INSOMNIA WITH MR. LOBO presents CREATURE (1985). One of the many Alien rip-offs that popped up during the 1980s (they even used the same special-effects team), this movie at least benefits from an all-too-brief appearance by the great Klaus Kinski, a good musical score, a dash of nudity, and some pretty gory special effects (exploding heads, etc.). It's about some astronauts who land on Titan (the largest moon of Saturn) and encounter an alien being who transforms some of them into parasite-infected zombies (think Planet of the Vampires meets Night of the Living Dead). You can be sure that Mr. Lobo will add just enough spice to turn this cheese ball of a movie into a tasty treat!

Friday (11/11). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MANSION OF MYSTERY
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
THE KIDNAPPING OF THE PRESIDENT (1980)

The election may be over, but the political intrigue continues as MANSION OF MYSTERY with Scarlett Kaiju and CJ the Werewolf presents A VERY VORTEXX . . . KIDNAPPING?? Sluggo Gonzales, our Dear Leader and freely elected President of The Vortexx, has mysteriously disappeared. But not to worry, Scarlett and CJ are on the case, tracking down an all-star list of horror-host suspects to find out the truth. While our two hosts are thus engaged, Mrs. O'Brien, Mittens, and Ralphie stay behind in the Mansion to host The Vortexx premiere of THE KIDNAPPING OF THE PRESIDENT (1980) starring William (Capt. Kirk) Shatner as an intrepid U.S. Secret Service agent battling terrorists who have abducted the President of the United States (Hal Holbrook) during a diplomatic mission to Toronto. Veteran actors Van Johnson and Ava Gardner also star. Will Capt. Kirk and Scarlett & CJ succeed in rescuing the two presidents? If you're a fan of horror hosts (and who in The Vortexx isn't?), this is one episode you can't afford to miss!

Saturday (11/12). 8:00 P.M. (ET)
ALTERNATIVE REALITIES
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
Guy Gilray's SCREAM OF THE SASQUATCH (2006)

ALTERNATIVE REALITIES with Dr. Sigmund Zoid and Sluggo presents The Vortexx premiere of Guy Gilray's SCREAM OF THE SASQUATCH (2006). It's a family-friendly comedy (i.e., no harsh language or sexual content) about some morons hunting for Bigfoot and the challenges they face along the way. Renowned anthropologist and Bigfoot expert Dr. Seymour Rimbaud adds a veneer of respectability to the proceedings, discussing the possibility that Bigfoot might be real. Meanwhile back at Alternative Realities, Dr. Zoid discovers that a Sasquatch is on the loose in The Vortexx, and he enlists the services of veteran gator wrassler Virgil Grissom to track him down. Oregon-born artist-musician Guy Gilray, whose 2010 film It Came For Friendship But Found Food was a big hit when it aired in The Vortexx last January, shot tonight's film at Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon on an estimated budget of $5,000.

Sunday (11/13). 9:00 P.M. (ET)

There's a disturbance in the shack and the boys can't agree on what's causing it. Baron Mardi and Basement Boy say it's a ghost; Dr. Calamari thinks its something far more sinister -- Science! They decide to settle the argument by having a seance and calling on the Spirit of the Shack to find out who's right. Calamari's celebrity booger collection and Mardi's donkey porn tapes -- all 22,000 of them -- are riding on the outcome of their bet.

presents
THE VORTEXX HALLOWEEN PARTY
and The Vortexx premiere of
CARRY ON SCREAMING (1966)

Join us tonight as we celebrate The Season of the Witch with our third annual VORTEXX HALLOWEEN PARTY! Our Monster of Ceremonies Mortimer Van Creep will kick off the celebration with a brand new episode of SKUNKY CINEMA. Tonight Morty will be hosting The Vortexx premiere of CARRY ON SCREAMING (1966). Kenneth Williams stars as the revived Dr. Watt and luscious Fennella Fielding is his vampirish sister in the twelfth installment of the long-running British "Carry On" series. Together they create two Frankenstein monsters named Oddbod and Oddbod Jr. who go around kidnapping hapless women. Mr. Hyde and a mummy join in the fun in this parody of the Hammer horror films of the 1960s. And for all you night owls, West Coasters, and Halloween junkies who took off work on November 1, the party continues at 11 (ET) with three full hours of MORT'S MONSTER SHORTS!

Tuesday (11/01). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BORDELLO OF HORROR
presents
THE AMAZING MR. X (1948) aka The Spiritualist

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, and Ali Katt presents THE AMAZING MR. X (1948) aka The Spiritualist. Turhan Bey and Richard Carlson star in this film noir about a grieving widow who is approached by a spiritualist (Bey) who claims he can help reach her lost love on "the other side." Is Mr. X a phony or is he the real deal? Join us tonight and find out. Carole Landis was originally scheduled to play the part of the grieving widow, but she committed suicide a few days before shooting began and popular World War II pin-up beauty Lynn Bari (aka "The Woo Woo Girl") was hired to take her place. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with footage from September's HorrorHound Weekend in Indianapolis, punk-rock musical guests The Jasons, a movie review by Mark Krawczyk from The Final Cut, and more!

Wednesday (11/02). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
TOXIC TALES WITH TIMBER WULFF
presents
WEREWOLF IN A GIRL'S DORMITORY (1961)

TOXIC TALES WITH TIMBER WULFF returns to the Vortexx with a brand-new episode! Tonight our good friend and chat room regular Timber Wulff will be hosting WEREWOLF IN A GIRL'S DORMITORY (1961) aka The Ghoul in School. Despite the cheesy title and the lack of a compelling shower scene, this Italian-Austrian co-production is actually a pretty decent movie. Several students at a girls school are murdered by a snarling, wolf-like creature. Who is the killer? Is it the new science teacher (Carl Schell)? Or the creepy caretaker (Peter Lorre look-alike Luciano Pigozzi)? Or maybe the head master (Curt Lowens)? We suspect that most of our viewers already know the answer to that question, but we're looking forward to seeing Timber Wulff's take on this venerable chestnut.

Thursday (11/03). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM
presents
THE MAGIC SERPENT (1966)

REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM with Remo and co-hosts Dr. Montag and Kato the Black Hornet presents The Vortexx premiere of THE MAGIC SERPENT (1966). This Kaiju-Ninja fantasy, based loosely on a famous Japanese folktale, is the movie that supposedly inspired George Lucas to make Star Wars. It's the story of Ikazuchi-Maru, a young prince in medieval Japan whose kingdom is overtaken and his family killed by an evil warlord. Years later the now-grown prince, having mastered the art of ninjutsu and toad magic thanks to an old hermit named Dojin Hiki, returns from exile to take back his kingdom, facing ghosts, ninjas, and the evil wizard Oroki-maru along the way. The conclusion is an all- out battle between the prince and the wizard, who transform themselves into (respectively) a giant frog and a giant serpent. Meanwhile back at the Manor the inter-dimensional portal that Dr. Montag created has opened up again, and Hoichi-Maru the Snake Goddess is on the loose.

Friday (11/04). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
THE LAST ALARM (1940)

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and Mike Mace presents The Vortexx premiere of THE LAST ALARM (1940). Veteran character actor J. Farrell MacDonald has a rare starring role in this tale of a recently retired fire chief who becomes involved in the investigation of a series of suspicious fires. The finger of suspicion soon points to the keeper of an antiques shop that the chief's daughter has recently visited. The film uses footage of real fires and firemen rushing to fight them to add to the air of authenticity. In keeping with the theme of tonight's movie, the host segments were filmed at the Mansfield Fire Museum in Mansfield, Ohio.

Saturday (11/05). 8:00 P.M. (ET)
LORD BLOOD-RAH'S
NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE

presents
MONSTER FROM A PREHISTORIC PLANET (1967) aka Gappa: The Triphibian Monster

LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents MONSTER FROM A PREHISTORIC PLANET (1967) aka Gappa: The Triphibian Monster. Reminiscent of the 1961 British movie Gorgo, this Japanese production features the Gappa family -- a trio of giant "bird lizards" who live in a remote area of Obelisk Island in the South Pacific. Problems arise when an expedition from Tokyo kidnaps baby Dweezil Gappa, and angry parents Frank and Gail take out their frustrations by leveling the Japanese capital city. As always, Lord Blood-Rah will be spicing up the mix with an assortment of trailers and other cool extras, including we hope another Cranial Cavity Search!

Graves & Smiley Bones, Master Vyle & Queman at the Pensinula of Horror, and Mortimer Van Creep hosting our Halloween Party. Enjoy the shows and Happy Halloween!

Sunday (10/23). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BEWARE THEATER
presents
NOSFERATU (1922)

BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents another gem from the Golden Age of Black-and-White -- F. W. Murnau's NOSFERATU (1922). Max Schreck plays the blood sucking vampire count in one of the first -- and definitely one of the scariest -- screen adaptations of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Arachna has taken some creative license to make this silent movie . . . well, less silent. Nosferatu actually speaks, and there are also some sound effects, different music, and lots of scary fun. This episode was a big hit with our viewers when it aired in The Vortexx last April, and we're betting that you're going to enjoy it even more the second time round. Tonight show will be preceded by a tribute to Jim (The Colonel) Klink hosted by one of his closest friends -- Dale Kay, host of DALE KAY'S SPOOKSHOW. Jim passed away last year on October 24.

Monday (10/24). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES (1973)

NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE with Vincent Grimmly and his pet raven Phydeaux presents The Vortexx premiere of VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES (1973). Paul Naschy plays a triple role in this stupendously bad but fun-to-watch Spanish horror thriller. Wearing a wig that makes him look like an Elvis impersonator, Naschy is hilariously miscast as Krishna, a charismatic Indian guru who may or may not be responsible for gang of murderous zombies on the loose in London. Naschy also plays Krishna's hideously disfigured brother Kantaka, and he sports some ridiculous looking horns playing The Devil himself. Argentinean beauty Mirta Miller plays the Guru's Indian girlfriend Kala. Some gratuitous nudity, a little gore, and an undeniably groovy free-form jazz and progressive-rock score add to the fun. Tonight's show will be preceded by Dale Kay's tribute to Jim (The Colonel) Klink, who passed away a year ago today on October 24, 2015.

Tuesday (10/25). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
BORDELLO OF HORROR
presents
HORROR HOTEL (1960)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Marijohuana presents a Vortex favorite -- HORROR HOTEL (1960) aka City of the Dead. A 300-year-old witch needs annual virgin sacrifices in order sustain her immortality, and virgins are getting harder and harder to find! Starring Christopher Lee and directed by John Llewellyn Moxey (Night Stalker), this chilling tale about witchcraft in a small New England town was released in the same year as Psycho and has been compared to that film in several ways. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with musical guests Bolonium, a movie review by Mark Krawczyk from The Final Cut, a special Bloody little secret short film, and more! Tonight's show will be preceded by Dale Kay's tribute to Jim (The Colonel) Klink. [Movie poster by Sean Hartter courtesy of Saturday Fright Special.]

Wednesday (10/26). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT
presents
THE GHOST (1963)

MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT with Bobby Gammonster and Boris the Buzzard presents THE GHOST (1963). Not just any ghost, mind you, but the ghost of Dr. Hitchcock of Horrible Dr. Hitchcock fame. Barbara Steele stars as his unfaithful wife, who plots against the doctor, now a cripple, with the help of her lover, while the lover plots against Babs with the help of the housekeeper. It's directed by Riccardo Freda, who had a great influence on both Mario Bava and Dario Argento. This movie has lots of atmosphere, lots of Babs, and a terrific twist ending, so don't miss it!

Thursday (10/27). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
ALTERNATIVE REALITIES
presents
THE MAD MONSTER (1942)

Our Countdown to Halloween continues tonight with the ALTERNATIVE REALITIES Halloween show from 2014. Tonight Dr. Sigmund Zoid and Suggo are hosting THE MAD MONSTER (1942) affectionately known to its fans as "Of Mice and Men and Werewolves," Glenn Strange, best remembered as the Frankenstein Monster in three Universal movies, plays Petro, a simple-minded handyman very reminiscent of the simpleton Lenny in the Steinbeck novel Of Mice and Men. Only this time a mad scientist (George Zucco) turns the simpleton into a werewolf!

Friday (10/28). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
SICKO-PSYCHOTIC
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
THE VAMPIRES' NIGHT ORGY (1973)

SICKO-PSYCHOTIC returns to The Vortexx to host the Vortexx premiere of THE VAMPIRES' NIGHT ORGY (1973). Imagine what Two Thousand Maniacs would have been like if Herschell Gordon Lewis had used vampires instead of southern rednecks, and you'll have a good idea of what tonight's movie is all about. It's a Spanish-Italian co-production directed by Leon Klimovsky, who also directed The Werewolf Versus the Vampire Woman and Monday night's Vengeance of the Zombies. This time, however, Klimovsky eschews his favorite go-to star Paul Naschy in favor of the lesser known Jack Taylor (the stripey-shirt guy in last week's Horror of the Zombies). It's about a busload of travelers who decide to spend the night in a nearby town when the bus driver suffers a fatal heart attack. At first the town seems to be uninhabited, but the travelers soon discover that it's populated by some (non-traditional) vampires who like to tear their victims to pieces. WARNING: Tonight's movie contains nudity and brutal violence and is definitely for adults only. So please keep the kids locked in the cellar tonight. It's the only safe place for them.

Saturday (10/29). 8:00 P.M. (ET)
PENINSULA OF HORROR
presents
WHAT IN THE SAMHAIN? CHAT NIGHT!

Join us tonight for a triple dose of HOUSE OF MASTER VYLE PRESENTS as THE PENINSULA OF HORROR -- the showcase for Florida's finest horror hosts -- celebrates its Third Anniversary with WHAT IN THE SAMHAIN? Chat Night! The main show starts at 8 (ET) as Master Vyle and Queman host THE GIANT GILA MONSTER (1959). They used a Mexican Beaded Lizard instead of a Gila Monster, and the movie lumbers along even more slowly than its title monster. But this low-budget gem has rock music, hot rods, skid marks, and plenty of unintentional laughs. Then stick around at 10 (ET) when Master Vyle and Queman return to host THE KILLER SHREWS (1959). Who cares if the shrews are really just dogs with rugs attached to them? This is a highly entertaining movie! The shrew action continues at Midnight (ET) as Master Vyle presents THE KILLER SHREWS (PILOT VERSION). It's the same movie but different host bits as Master Vyle presents the never-before-seen pilot version of his show. We must warn you, however, once you see this show, it can never be unseen! There will be a PreShow for the Early Boids -- THE GREAT GRUMPLIN'S HALLOWEEN SAFETY SHOW -- starting at 7 (ET).
PLEASE NOTE: Tonight's show will be aired on The Peninsula of Horror's Livestream channel -- livestream.com/tpoh Viewers who show up on The Vortexx channel Saturday night will be re-directed there, so you can save yourself a couple of steps by going directly to The Peninsula of Horror.

Sunday (10/30). 9:00 P.M. (ET)
PUBLIC DOMAIN DRIVE-IN
presents
TALES FROM THE HAUNTED RADIO

PUBLIC DOMAIN DRIVE-IN with Cnl. Graves & Smiley Bones presents TALES FROM THE HAUNTED RADIO. Cnl. Graves and Smiley are back to celebrate Halloween again, this time with the Haunted Radio! Join us for audio tricks and treats as we listen to HP Lovecraft's Dunwich Horror, Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven, and the Washington Irving classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. But the chills aren't just for your ears as our two hosts also hit a Halloween Party and learn about Halloween Safety -- plus even more treats! This one is gonna be a lotta fun! Don't miss it!

Monday (10/31). 9:00 P.M. (ET)

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE
presents
GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE (1974)

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE (1974). Michael Pataki stars as Caleb Croft, one of the creepiest bloodsuckers you're ever going to see. No sparkly vampires tonight, folks. This guy really means business. William Smith plays Caleb's half-vampire, half-human son twenty-four years before Wesley Snipes did it in Blade. Writer David Chase would later go on to bigger and better things with The Sopranos.

The Vortexx premiere of
Riccardo Fredi's SAMSON AND THE 7 MIRACLES OF THE WORLD (1961)

FORMERLY CRAPPICS with Freezer Mortis presents The Vortexx premiere of Riccardo Fredi's SAMSON AND THE 7 MIRACLES OF THE WORLD (1961). Freezer returns to his roots in the Italian sword-and-sandal genre in this tale of Maciste (renamed Samson in the American release) , who goes to China to rescue a princess and fight Tartar rebels. Former Tarzan Gordon Scott stars as the muscle-bound hero, while French-Japanese actress Yoko Tani plays the princess. Two capable leads, a decent director, and lavish exterior and interior sets (left over from the movie Marco Polo) help raise this film a notch above the usual sword-and-sandal fare of the early 1960s.

HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES (1974)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt, and Marijohuana presents The Vortexx premiere of HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES (1974) aka The Ghost Galleon. This sequel to director Amando de Ossorio's successful and well-received The Blind Dead fails to measure up to the original. Its about a pair of bikini-glad fashion models aboard a phantom galleon who are chased in endless circles by eyeless ghouls wearing hoods. Turns out the ghouls are actually the skeletal remains of some excommunicated medieval Knights Templar, who were hanged and blinded for dabbling in black magic and Satan worship. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with musical guests The Anderson Brothers.

UNDEAD WEDNESDAY ZOMBIE DOUBLE FEATURE

Join us tonight for our UNDEAD WEDNESDAY ZOMBIE DOUBLE FEATURE! First up is MR. LOBO'S NON STOP MOVIE PARTY: ZOMBIES! -- a one-hour special which first aired on Mr. Lobo's new distribution network OSI 74 (Outer Space International). If you love zombies (and who doesn't?) , then you're not going to want to miss this one as Mr. Lobo presents clips and trailers from zombie movies of all sorts, ranging from classics such as White Zombie and Plan 9 to modern-day thrillers such as George Romero's original Dead trilogy and Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2 and City of the Living Dead. Then stick around for more gut-munching zombie action as we present three of our favorite episodes of Kriss Hoffman's PROJECT Z: HISTORY OF THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE -- “Lt.” (the premiere episode), "Legend of the Zombie Queen," and "Ku Klux Zombies" starring our good friend Timber Wulff.

presents
The Vortexx premiere of
SATAN'S SLAVE (1982)

REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM with Remo, co-hosts Dr. Montag and Kato the Black Hornet, and vault mistress Carlotta Nightshade presents The Vortexx premiere of SATAN'S SLAVE (1982). This little known cinema rarity from Indonesia was supposedly inspired by the cult classic Phantasm E. If you're expecting to see an Indonesian Tall Man, or Indonesian dwarfs, or a flying orb, you're going to be disappointed. But tonight's movie is actually a pretty creepy ghost story about a family attempting to deal with the recent death of the mother, who returns in spectral form after the family rejects their religion. A number of other folk also come back from the dead, and the evil forces at work get more and more powerful leading up to a genuinely terrifying conclusion in which all hell quite literally breaks loose. This is a "must see" for all fans of Indonesian horror, whoever and wherever they may be.

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE
presents
Roger Corman's THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS (1954)

THE WEIRDNESS REALLY BAD MOVIE with Dave Binkley and co-host Lisa Pierce presents Roger Corman's THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS. No, this isn't the 2001 Vin Diesel blockbuster that led to a lucrative franchise. It's a cheapo Corman production from 1954 about a man wrongly convicted of murder (future Academy Award nominee John Ireland), who kidnaps a woman (future Academy Award winner Dorothy Malone) and her Jaguar XK120 and then joins the annual Pebble Beach cross-border road race in an attempt to hightail it into Mexico. This was Corman's third film, and the first to be distributed by American International Pictures. Corman makes a cameo appearance as a state trooper, while Bruno (Fat Dave) Ve Sota, Snub Pollard (of Laurel & Hardy fame), and Jonathan (Seymour Krelburn) Haze appear in small roles as a truck driver, park caretaker, and Dorothy's rescuer. In keeping with the theme of tonight's movie, the host segments were shot at the Canton Classic Car Museum in Canton, Ohio.

William Castle's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959)

SKUNKY CINEMA with Mortimer Van Creep and special guest Dr. Sigmund Zoid presents a Vortexx (and Mortexx) favorite -- William Castle's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959). Vincent Price gives a stellar performance as the suavely malevolent host who offers his guests $10,000 if they can survive a night in the murderous mansion. Carol Ohmart co-stars as Vinnie's scheming wife, and Elisha Cook, Jr. plays the timid owner of the house. The eerie looking home used for the exterior shots is the Ennis Brown house in Los Angeles, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which was later used in Blade Runner and Rocketeer.

BEWARE THEATER
presents
George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)

BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968). We know you've seen this movie more than a few times before, but tonight Arachna will be breathing new life into this venerable old chestnut with frequent host inserts and biting humor.

JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER (1967)

NIGHT CHILLS THEATRE with Vincent Grimmly presents JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER (1967). The legendary outlaw, on the run from the law, hides out in the castle of Baron Frankenstein's granddaughter Maria. A chip off the old Frankenstein block, Maria performs a brain transplant on Jesse's wounded pal Hank and, for reasons known only to her, promptly re-names him Igor. Directed by the infamous William "One Shot" Beaudine, tonight's movie and its companion piece Billy the Kid Versus Dracula were One Shot's last theatrical films.

presents
I BURY THE LIVING (1958)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt and Marijohuana presents a Vortexx favorite -- I BURY THE LIVING (1958). A cemetery caretaker (Richard Boone) discovers that by switching white and black pins around on the map of the grounds, he can cause the death of future tenants -- and revive the current ones. Austrian-born Theodore Bikel plays Andy the caretaker with the thickest (and fakest) Scottish accent you're ever gonna hear. This creepy little thriller is said to be one of Stephen King's favorites, and it's one of ours as well. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with special musical guests Psycho Charger.

presents
ALIEN CONTAMINATION (1984)ALIEN CONTAMINATION (1984) aka Contamination

THE SCHLOCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW with Nigel Honeybone presents Luigi Cozzi's ALIEN CONTAMINATION (1984) aka Contamination. If you can imagine Alien without a special effects budget or a talented director and with actors saying ludicrous things like "Help! Let me out! There's an egg!" then you'll have a pretty good idea what to expect from tonight's movie. It's about a one-eyed alien (grown from a seed that an astronaut brought back from Mars) who's incubating hundreds of green, pulsating, acid-spewing alien eggs at a coffee plantation in Colombia. Ian McCulloch (of Zombi and Zombie Holocaustfame) heads a cast of mostly unknown Italians. The cult band Goblin lends a helping hand by providing an out-of-this-world soundtrack. This was one of the 72 films on the UK's infamous "Video Nasty" list.

THE PROFESSOR GILLMAN SHOW
presents
The Vortexx premiere of
UFO: THE TRUE STORY OF FLYING SAUCERS (1956)

THE PROFESSOR GILLMAN SHOW presents the Vortexx premiere of UFO: THE TRUE STORY OF FLYING SAUCERS (1956). This semi-documentary, released to capitalize on the UFO craze that was sweeping the nation during the mid-50s, promises "actual color films of UFOs kept top secret until now." Tom Towers (the real-life aviation editor of The Los Angeles Examiner) stars as Al Chop, a reporter who begins to investigate several reports of UFOs and by the end of the movie is convinced that they are in fact real. The 10 minutes of poor-quality UFO footage at the end is mildly interesting, but before the movie finally gets to it you have to sit through 80 minutes of boring stock footage, interviews, and dramatic reenactments with some really annoying Dragnet-style narration. We're betting that long before the final credits, you'll be hoping to be abducted by a real spaceship just so you can get away from this turkey.

Friday (10/14) @ 9:00 P.M. (ET)
DR. MORTOSE COMMANDS
presents
HORROR (1963) aka The Blancheville Monster

DR. MORTOSE COMMANDS presents HORROR (1963) aka The Blancheville Monster. Although generally known by the latter title, this Italian-Spanish Gothic thriller, based loosely on Edgar Allan Poe's “The Fall of The House of Usher” and “The Premature Burial”, was originally released in Italy, Spain, and the U.K. under the somewhat bland title “The House of Usher”. Intended to capitalize upon the success of Roger Corman's popular Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, this visually striking but talky film stars Ombretta Colli as Emily de Blancheville, the beautiful young daughter of a crazed count, who fears that she will fall victim to the family curse. The movie ambles along about as slowly as The Giant Gila Monster, but it does have a few things going for it, including a creepy castle, some great exterior shots of a crumbling abbey and eerie forest locales, two very attractive female leads, and a willowy nightgown that shows Emily's perky breasts.

KILLERS FROM SPACE (1954)

LORD BLOOD-RAH'S NERVE WRACKIN' THEATRE presents KILLERS FROM SPACE (1954). Peter (Mission Impossible) Graves stars as a scientist abducted by bug-eyed aliens from Astron Delta in this low-budget thriller directed by W. Lee (Willie) Wilder, Oscar-winner Billy Wilder's less talented older brother. Tonight, you will have a chance to see Willie's ineptitude in full display as the aliens, wearing ridiculous Phantom rip-off suits, plan to conquer the earth with giant stock-footage insects and reptiles. As always, Lord Blood-Rah will be spicing up the mix with plenty of movie trailers and other cool extras, including (we hope) another cranial cavity search.

REVENGE OF THE ZOMBIES (1943)

MISTY BREW'S CREATURE FEATURE presents REVENGE OF THE ZOMBIES (1943). Since this movie was made in the midst of World War II, you might expect to see some Nazis in it. Trust us, you will not be disappointed. Horror movie veteran John Carradine stars as Dr. Max Heinrich von Altermann, a mad scientist (is there any other kind?) working at an old mansion in the bayous of Louisiana. Mad Max has plans to create a race of living dead warriors for the Third Reich. But his plans are complicated by his deceased wife (Veda Ann Borg) -- a zombie who, in most unzombie-like fashion, has developed a mind of her own. Mantan Moreland reprises his role of Jeff from King of the Zombies (1941). Gale Storm (of My Little Margie fame), future Batman Robert Lowery, and cowboy actor Bob Steele co-star.

MONSTER OF PARTY BEACH (2014)

PSYCHO CINEMA with Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether presents The Vortexx premiere of Mark Justice's MONSTER OF PARTY BEACH (2014). If the title sounds vaguely familiar, it's because this Indie film from Cyclops Pictures was intended to be an homage to those bikini beach movies of the 1960s such as Horror of Party Beach and Beach Girls and the Monster. It’s summer time in Harmony Point, and the teens are home for vacation. It's all fun and games on the beach until a monster begins to kill off the bikini-clad teens one by one. Can Harmony Point’s mayor and police force stop the monster before there are no more bikini-filling teens left? If you like your Indies with extra cheese, then this is the movie for you!

VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968)

BORDELLO OF HORROR with Freakshow, Mistress Malicious, Sgt. Drizzlepuss, Ali Katt and Marijohuana presents VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968). Marilyn Monroe wannabe Mamie Van Doren stars as Moana, the leader of a tribe of Venusian women who wear clamshell bikinis, worship a pterodactyl god, and spend a lot of time lying around the beach. This movie uses the same footage from the Russian-made Planet of Storms that Roger Corman used three years earlier in Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet. Acclaimed director Peter Bogdanovich (calling himself Derek Thomas) directed the American scenes and also supplies the narration. In addition to the movie, Freaky will be entertaining us with special musical guests Zombina and the Skeletons, a movie review by Mark Krawczyk from The Final Cut, and more!

FIVE MINUTES TO LIVE (1961)

MONSTER MOVIE NIGHT with Bobby Gammonster and Boris the Buzzard presents FIVE MINUTES TO LIVE (1961). Johnny Cash makes his movie debut in this energetic crime thriller as Johnny Cabot, a hard-up, guitar-strumming hood who's hired by crook Fred Dorella (Vic Tayback from TV's Alice) to pose as a door-to-door guitar instructor, kidnap the wife of the local bank president (Donald Woods from 13 Ghosts), and hold her for ransom. Seven-year-old Ron Howard plays the couple's son Bobby. Despite the low production values, Cash manages a strong menacing presence, and the script is surprisingly smart. Cash sings "I've Come to Kill" and the title song "Five Minutes to Live."

It's a Made-for-TV movie about a cryogenically frozen man (Michael Beck) who returns from the deep freeze after a sleep of ten years. Only problem is, he is without a soul and begins doing creepy things. Paul Sorvino, Jill Schoelen, and Beatrice Straight co-star. In keeping with the horticultural theme of tonight's movie, the host segments were shot at Suncrest Gardens -- a retail garden center in Peninsula, Ohio, where Dave tries his best to cope with his pollen allergies.

Gordon's ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE (1958). Mr. B.I.G. goes small in this tale of a lonely dollmaker (veteran character actor John Hoyt) who lures unsuspecting folks into the back room of his shop and shrinks them for his amusement. It's all champagne parties and rock 'n' roll dancing on the table until one of his recently shrunk victims (veteran B-movie hero John Agar) decides to organize an escape. Turns out that those wacky Venusians destroyed themselves before they could destroy Earth. The Vortexx premiere of
MAGIC OF STELL (1988)

REMO D.'S MANOR OF MAYHEM presents The Vortexx premiere of MAGIC OF STELL (1988) aka Magic of Spell. Tonight's movie is a Taiwanese kung fu-fantasy -- full of eye-popping magical effects and feats of strength and sorcery -- that must be seen in order to be believed. Loosely based on the Japanese folk tale Momotaro, The Peach Boy, it stars Chinese actress Hsiao-Lao Lin as The Peach Boy -- born, so the story goes, from a large magic peach found in a river. The lad lives peachfully in the countryside with his old grandmother (played in gray wig and makeup, by one-time Shaw Bros. martial-arts star Cheng Pei Pei) until one day a band of demons raids the nearby village, abducts all the children, and attacks Peachy's home. The Peachmeister survives the attack and, accompanied by Dog Girl, Chicken Girl, Monkey Boy, and a walking talking ginseng plant, he sets out for the demons' castle to exact revenge on the ancient sorcerer who ordered the raid. The dialog is in Mandarin Chinese with ridiculous English subtitles. The English title of the subtitled release is supposed to be Magic of Spell. However, it’s mis-SPELLed Magic of Stell in the on-screen title, so that’s what Remo calls it.

It's set in a place called The Amplified World, and it's filled with vampires, ghouls, robots, rocket men, masked heroes, and over-the-top villains like The Vampire Queen. In addition to the movie, Mr. Lobo will be spicing up the mix with off-beat humor, vintage TV ads, drive-in movie trailers, retro craziness, and informative interviews on location in Richmond, Virginia, detailing the making of the movie.

BEWARE THEATER
presents
William Castle's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959)

BEWARE THEATER with Arachna of the Spider People and her friend Deadly presents another gem from the Golden Age of Black & White as they host William Castle's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959). Vincent Price gives a stellar performance as the suavely malevolent host of a "haunted house party" who offers his guests $10,000 if they can survive a night in the murderous mansion. Carol Ohmart co-stars as Vinnie's scheming wife, and Elisha Cook, Jr. plays the timid owner of the house.
