The Affliction Table (Review)— House Of Tortured Souls

After watching and reviewing House of Lexi, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out The Affliction Table which was written and directed by M W Daniels, he also appears in this short horror film.

This non dialogue short horror film follows William Hayden, (M W Daniels) who is a fantasist and an occultist who dreams up the ultimate woman Holly Low (Kimberley Thornhill). Little does Hayden know, she is something far from his nightmares and they carry out bizarre rituals around the Affliction Table.

The whole entire short film takes place at a table in the dark which makes it eerie but you can feel the connection between Daniels and Thornhill. Their connection with their characters can be quite creepy and it’s obviously quiet, however you don’t need to words to feel every emotion they showcase. It’s beautifully horrific.

Daniels once again shows how creative he is as a writer and director. I felt every ounce of emotion within 15 minutes of the drastic changes this short had. This is a film you will have to see for yourself to understand. Daniels is definitely going places in his career and I can’t wait to see more of his projects in the future.

The Affliction Table is set to play at many festivals, catch it while you can’t, you won’t regret it.
